I am in lovePosted Sep 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
Wonderful romantic getaway. Relaxing and laid back atmosphere, just like having your own country mansion for the weekend. great pool and hot tub, the room was really spacious and comfy and the bathroom was of the highest standard. Also great for celebrity spotting. can't wait to go back.

Bellinter House - almost very goodPosted Jun 28, 2011 on Hotels.com
I booked this as a present for my wife; we're frequent visitors to Ireland and have stayed in several countty house hotels before. We really wanted to love Bellinter House but...there was something indefinable that was missing so it gets only 3 stars from us. Initial impressions were good, the outside appearance is lovely after driving down the long driveway. The location is quiet but close enough to the M3 motorway to make travelling easy. The bedroom was OK (in the West wing), nothing special, but the bed was very comfortable. The cupboards and wardrobe smelt musty. The staff were very good and friendly. The main downsides were the smell of damp in some corridors and the awful stained mustard-coloured carpet in the dining room. It gives the overall impression of a lack of investment, which may not be surprising given the current state of the Irish economy. The food in the Eden restaurant was very good but not outstanding. Breakfast service was variable. We did not use the spa facilities so cannot comment on this. Overall, a good place to stay but a little investment would make it great.
