We booked a sea view room and got hugely disappointed to find out that all was covered by a dense fog. A bit like in the middle of a cloud - one can't see anything beyond 200m. However, when the mist dissipated on the second day, the view we percepted was stunning.
this hotel IMHO is particularly worthy for those who like myself doesn't enjoy cold ocean water. A swimming pool (not too large, but not a sardines box either), comfy shaded beds and fantastic view offer good alternative to an overcrowded beach (with no beds available) and the chilly waves of the Atlantics. Honestly, despite August my feet were going numb even in the shallow water.
I can also recommend a Made-in-Nazare buffet dinner: 29Euro including unlimited wine of agreeble quality.

Our room was a bit spartan but clean and comfortable. Possibly because we were there for only one night we were given a room facing the plaza but we could easily see the beach for the window in our room and could hear the surf all night long - a beautiful sound. Ask for a room facing the sea if at all possible. The restaurant here is quite good. We arrived on a Sunday in mid September and the town was packed with people. On Monday, the town was quiet and very enjoyable. If we were to come back to Nazare (during the week only) we would certainly stay here again. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Pretty cheap and basic hotel but in a good location in Nazare. Struggled to find a decent map showing the location then realized that we had one in our Rough Guide to Portugal. Not much parking and arriving mid afternoon mid May we had to drive around several times until a space became available. Nazare attracts loads of day trippers and coaches so settles down later on. Hotel staff more interested in their mobile phone than customers and having to provide access to the safety deposit box behind reception twice per day seemed a bit of hassle for them. Breakfast consists of three different types of bread, some plastic ham and ok cheese. We only stayed 3 nights and got bored with it. All said, we would recommend this place for a short stay only as the location is good for Nazare and we got what we paid for. Don't pay a lot and don't stay more than 3 nights and you will be fine.
