Fantastic Beach Resort!

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, grounds.
Cons: Room decor.
Location: Great watersports next door at Sun Beach. Tony's bar down the beach awesome!
Second time at Cocolapalm and love it! The staff are wonderful and the grounds beautiful and well maintained. The beach is big and a perfect slice of Negril. Restaurant and beach bar/grill are awesome! Big Up to Michelle and Gilliam at the beach bar! I recommend a junior suite, but all rooms I have seen are nice. Great security on the beach and at night. Miss B runnin tings with housekeeping have the place spotless. Also Big Up to Vernon at the bar too! We will see you next year Coco!

Pros: Staff is great. You get a very warm welcome when returning. Our housekeeper was great. No leaf unturned with her.
Cons: The dining staff may want to smooth out the service. They are hard working but I think that they could work smarter. Keep tables set during service.
Location: Just check the front desk for suggestions upon arrival.
I don't think that you can go wrong with location with this property. There are also perks to booking through Expedia. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I am never disappointed by Coco La Palm. A warm welcome always awaits me.

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Better internet access, hard in that area. they do have an Internet Café for emergencies.
Location: Margaritaville is a short walk , best drinks on the beach but a bit pricy. Loved Ivan's at the Cliffs.
This was our fourth time in Negril, 1st at Coco La Palm and by far the best value we've had. The property is beautifully located, rooms were comfortable, staff was friendly and accommodating. This is not a place if you want luxurious rooms, but it was comfortable and cleaned every day by a great staff. Everyone we met that worked there was friendly and helpful, answered all of our questions. Our air conditioner quit and was replaced within two hours. Great dining is close by in both directions. Our only issue was internet access was limited to the bar and the gazebo near the pool. We bought a $20.00 throw away phone with two hundred minutes and it was perfect for quick phone calls home. Would definitely recommend it as a great Negril experience.

Nice location, staff very accommodating

Pros: the location, it was basically smack dab in the middle of 7 mile beach
Cons: The only thing I could say was that the beds in our deluxe room were a little so soft.
Location: as i mentioned earlier, the resort was right in the middle of 7 mile beach so did not need to walk very far (either way) for a nice meal.
We were not to pleased with initial room, but got upgraded to honeymoon suite for first couple days at no cost !! GREAT room with nice ocean view balcony. Then we were moved to another upgraded room for remainder of stay, again at no additional cost.

Great place to relax

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: The staff was very helpful, the beach had both sun and shade, the beach towels were nice, the pools were clean and the grounds were immaculate.
Cons: Offering taxi drivers available that don't ripoff unknowing tourists would be great. It's cheaper to rent a car and drive yourself.
Location: CocoLaPalm has a central location that makes getting around easy. It's not a difficult ride from the airport. Rent a car and save money.
I have traveled to Jamaica several times, staying in lodging that ranged from Sandals to staying with a Jamaican friend in her home, which often has no running water. I usually travel alone but this time I took my 15 year old daughter and her friend for their first time. I wanted the girls to experience "real" Jamaica but still feel comfortable and safe. Coco's convenient location in the middle of the Negril "strip" offers many options for meeting Jamaicans, eating real Jamaican food or sticking to more American fare. We had a blast walking the beach, swimming, snorkeling from a glass bottom boat and even having a picnic with grilled lobster on an island. I had rented a car so we ran down to Rick's, grabbed groceries in "downtown" Negril, and did a lot of sightseeing. The staff does an amazing job keeping the grounds, pools and rooms clean. It's obvious that they take pride in what they do. The only downfall was that 3 days into our trip we took the advice of the beach guard who set up us with "a friend" for horseback riding. Moments into our ride, I found myself laying on the side of the road with a broken back, thanks to the irresponsible actions of our guides. Let me assure you that you don't want to end up in a Jamaican hospital with a serious injury or illness. Always take out trip insurance! Thank God for airlifts back home. It could save your life!
