Friendly and relaxing, real Jamaican

Posted Sep 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Recently changed ownership, there have been improvements to the rooms, bar and dining area. The rooms are clean and equipped with refrigerator and small kitchen. This is your place if you are looking for a small and simple boutique hotel with friendly staff and guests on the best beach location in Negril. It's not, if you want a mega all-inclusive. I recommend it for chilling out, enjoying the beach and having a Red Stripe.

Beautiful beach location

Posted Mar 8, 2012
Pros: The staff and the wonderful breakfasts
Cons: Too much nudity for me, but that's a personal preference!
Location: You can't get any better than this!
This place was very chilled, but be warned - it is well known as a nudist "hippie" (with all that this term entails) resort in Jamaica and it certainly was while we were there! It gives a whole new meaning to turning a blind eye! Having said that, the staff were lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, and the location definitely had the best bit of beach in beautiful Negril. We had a one bedroom apartment, which was fine, but you had to walk over an exposed bridge to get from the bedroom to the kitchen and the bathroom, which was slightly inconvenient.

Firefly stay

Posted Jan 18, 2012
We loved our seven night stay at Firefly Beach Cottages. We enjoyed the beach area and the resorts bar area as well as walking the length of 7 mile beach. The only negative from our stay was the constant flow of vendors trying to sell everything from drugs to trinkets anong the beach. Although we felt safe at Firefly it's more than likely that we will not return to Jamacia due to the harassment by vendors.

The worse hotel at Negril Beach

Posted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Negril Beach is a very nice location at the Caribbean Sea. But the Firefly Beach Cottages are in a very bad shape and there are no glass windows in the cottages so you hear all the noise from the very busy road nearby and from all the beach parties in the vicinity until early in the morning (sleeping is impossible until about 4 a.m. in the morning). The rent of these cottages is waste of money. Any other place at Negril Beach is better.
