Business / Pleasure stay in NelsonPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: On-site parking & price. Heater was turned on before we arrived. On a quiet street.
Cons: Nothing really
Location: We had a car so it did not matter
The price for this room through Expedia was excellent. I imagine that the Winter Season had something to do with it. Helen on the main desk was excellent with her help.

A pleasant room. Not very near to town.Posted Nov 29, 2013
Location: Nothing at all to do in Nelson. Very quiet
The room was pleasant but motel facilities shared with backpackers hotel. I felt undervalued by staff and ignored. Courtesy bus picked me up from station but would not take me back.

Paradiso's delightful paradisePosted Jan 8, 2013
Pros: The staff were amazing. The atmosphere of the place was relaxing and inviting.
Cons: Having to leave....
Location: 10 mins walk from central Nelson and the Centre of NZ look out. Quiet area to be staying in.
From the moment I arrived I could tell it was going to be a great stay. The hotel is 10mins walk from the main town area, so you are surrounded by quiet. The rooms are clean and fresh, the bathroom has spa baths even! The staff were so friendly and very knowledgable about what to do, best deals and the best food. Behind Paradiso is a Backpackers...but you really would not know. They have a pool, spa and sauna...volley ball, table tennis and tables to sit around outside to mix and mingle. This would definitley suit a family, couple or single person. I will definitley stay there again and recommend it to all.

Unfortunate that reception is not open for check in although the letter left for me stated it was open between the hours of 4.30pm -8.30pm. I arrived at 5pm. It was dark when I arrived and thus being unfamiliar with the room and had great difficulty in locating light switches so I could see where I was going. Based on other reviews from fellow travellers i would have thought that management would have picked up on this. Disappointing !!
