Pros: Mixing in the public areas with other guests, the elevated position of the hotel, and the elegant architecture.

It was great. Everything you need without having people around you. Could stay and use everything as you wanted.

What the doctor ordered

Posted Jul 9, 2013
I loved the informal, friendly, super quiet and peaceful house, the sense of its history and age, the beautiful and appropriate decor, the way it has been beautifully restored and maintained. The staff leave you alone, but are definitely there if you want anything or wish to chat. Shared kitchen made eating a 'family' event if you wanted that. Shared bathrooms were not a problem at all. Fabulous stay, just what the doctor ordered. Restorative. Yet in easy walking distance of the town's attractions.

More than satisfied...

Pros: The character, and the stairwell. Its closeness to town, eating places and the gardens if you stayed here over summer.
Cons: The steep drive - I am not good with hills!
Location: Central location - perfect.
I arrived to Nelson for work and was amazed at Fellworth house. Finally nice to see something in this country kept in its original state. I was upgraded to a room overlooking the city. It def served a purpose and so much nicer than spending my money on a 'characterless' usual room in a town motel! Much impressed. Plunger coffee and large kitchen if you needed to use, shower fine with very adequate pressure. I could see a nice big get together or family weekend here - lovely with ballroom and all! Thanks for the experience, will definitely be back.

Beautiful house, great concept of renting out the last floor for visitors with beautiful shared kitchen/breakfast room/balcony/living room and confortable little single room, perfect for me. I saw nobody from the owners as there was nobody to greet me nor when I left, which is kinda ok with me, but a bit weird all the same. A bit difficult to find the entrance, kind probably get complicated if lots of car parked and kinda difficult to get to without a car I suppose... but the house and the view are worth all this
