Quiet, off the beaten trackPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Hospitality, food, relaxing atmosphere
Cons: Bigger swimming pool
We stayed at the Hermitage for 5 nights at the start of our honeymoon and we found the overall experience very enjoyable. The staff were overall quite friendly and the property was very well maintained. The hotel is quite far from the beach but there is a small swimming pool on the property. We enjoyed tennis, walks in the hills and a lot of lying around in a hammock sipping on a rum punch. The food is really excellent and the buffet night is not to be missed (suckling pig roasted on a spit for 10 hours under a mango tree on the property, plus loads of other local dishes, including a huge veggie selection). We went out of season so the property was very quiet (as was the rest of the island) but it was just what we needed after the stress of organising a wedding. If you're looking for a peaceful few days on Nevis I would highly recommend it.

Plantation luxuryPosted Dec 2, 2010 on Hotels.com
Excellent cottages with well appointed interiors. Located on an old plantation, all the cottages are wooden and the main central dining area and lounges have excellent furnishings. Transportation is the biggest handicap because of the location, so either a taxi on call or one's own rental car is a must.
