Don't expect to make yourself at home...Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: It is clean and beautiful. The location is great. Food was decent (but don't expect to be allowed to use any part of the kitchen).
Cons: For what they charge, the customer service and care should be much, much better. I'm very low maintenance too so that is saying a lot.
The reasons I would not recommend staying here: - Upon arriving George, the owner, greeted us and showed us around. He was nice. His wife, Judy, was not there and we did not see her until the next morning at breakfast where upon entering the dining room she began serving plates and such but did not actually say hello or introduce herself (and never did for our entire stay). - In our room a Keurig was available with four K-Cups with a note that said "four is all we provide. If you want more they are $1 each." Also, in the common area, another dish of various bite size candies with a sign that said "25 cents each". It felt more insulting to be nickled-and-dimed after paying a fair amount for our stay than it would have to not offer coffee or candy at all. - The house thermostat is set to 68 degrees, 24 hours a day. My wife had to turn the fake fireplace on in our room (in June!) to keep from getting cold. - The biggest turn off was our last night. After a full day of walking around town we decided it would be nice to grab a frozen pizza and some easy snacks for dinner (all disposable with no real mess) and head back to the house to sit in the spa and enjoy the grounds. I called Judy out of courtesy to make sure it was OK to quickly use the oven. She said "sorry the kitchen is for staff to use only and it is locked after they leave." It was true too, the kitchen was locked directly after the owners and staff left the property.

On the river, quiet settingPosted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The setting was quiet & eel cared for.
Location: Only 1 mile from Gruene, Tx., famous dance hall & wonderful restaurants, still on the river.
Met at the door by George (owner). He showed us around the facility. They have a swing, decks & lots of flowers. The other guests we our age & very friendly, like all Texans seem to be.

THE place to stay!Posted Apr 17, 2015
Cons: Not much.
Location: Gruene Hall, the Gristmill, Guadalupe River, New Braunfels, great restaurants, shops, antiques, wine tastings.
Top notch! Absolutely beautiful setting, rooms, food and service. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and very inviting. They're located only 1 mile from Gruene which was especially attractive to us. We were treated like family and the B&B sits right on the Guadalupe River with multiple decks overlooking the river and a relaxing atmosphere that can't be beat ... but yet so close to Gruene and Gruene Hall and it's lively, nightly entertainment of music and dancing. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the owners George and Judy and the entire staff! ... AND the wonderful B&B they operate!!! They really know how to treat their guests. We will definitely return here our next visit to Gruene and New Braunfels. Thank you George and Judy for such a wonderful stay!

Great B&B!Posted Mar 26, 2015 on Hotels
My wife and I decided to spend a few days near Gruene, TX to visit the historical part of town. The owners were very friendly and the B&B is right on the water. The staff were quite pleasant and the breakfast they served each morning were fabulous! Definitely worth the stay. We'll be back.
