Nice place to stay

Pros: The staff, the position of the hotel
Cons: Refurbish the rooms - which is happening. Until that occurs offer lower rates.
Location: Anse Vata is great! Lots of shops, restaurant and beautiful scenery
We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien. The staff were lovely and the position on the beach was great. Renovations were still ongoing which was a bit disappointing but you can see it will be a fantastic hotel when the renovations are finished. Our room was quite tired and in need of refurbishment but again that is meant to be coming. The pool and the beachshide restaurant were open and both were great places to relax.

A resort not worth the stay

The only thing redeeming about the resort is it's close to the beach. Food tasted like dry, sandy cardboard and paying 300 AUD was such a rip off. The pool was under renovation and we at least expected a warning about this. Other areas could not be used due to renovation. We had to pay the full price when 80% of the facilities could not be used. Not up to snuff. We are very dissapointed.

Nice location

Very nice hotel located in a scenic location. Even though the hotel is under renovation, it was well presented and the staff were very curtious.

Ongoing Renovations spoilt the experience

No water in the pool, overpowering smell of chemical pool waterproofing sealant when outdoors near the eateries in the garden near the beach. Ongoing renovations we were not made aware if in advance. Rooms were fine but basic, staff excellent, buffet very good. Disappointing for us but when renovations complete others should enjoy the stay.

Do not stay here

Pros: Nothing at all to like about the place
Staff were terrible, bathroom mouldy, pool and bar out of action. Apparently you could use the pool next door but no one told us - after I wrote a review the manager told us. Not helpful. Wifi didn't work.

Great location and great service

The hotel was big and spacious and the rooms were clean. The service was amazing. The concierge girls were so helpful and did not complain or hesitate once. Unfortunately, when my mum and I visited the pool was closed but it was still beautifully close to the beach. The breakfast buffet was a good experience too.

A long weekend in Noumea

Pros: Quite well appointed and will be better after its renovation. The staff worked hard to please and were always welcoming and friendly
Cons: Breakfast was ordinary with food presentation and quality the same.
Location: You can't easily walk to Noumea but buses and hop on hop off transport work well. snorkelling, parasailing, sail boarding etc available.
The hotel was is distant from the shops and is quiet and pleasant. We were disappointed that we couldn't manage to organise any trips especially cruises.

One of many hotels on the Anse Vate strip

Pros: Good value breakfasts, nice pool, straight onto the beach.
Cons: Facilities in room
Location: Handy to AnseVate shops, other hotels, Duck Island snorkeling, aquarium, frequent buses
The hotel was adequate, but unfortunately when I booked it was not made obvious that the place was having work done on it. The fitness room wasn't available, nor the sauna. Our 'garden room' had a lovely big comfy bed and there was plenty of space, but the decor was tired, doors didn't close on cupboards and the bathroom was in need of an overhaul. Given it has a high star rating I was disappointed at the standard. The buffet breakfast is excellent - plenty of choice and heaps to eat, staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee from the coffee machine however was another matter!

Perfect location near beach

Pros: Location
Cons: airport transfer and city shuttle bus.
Location: Nest to beach which is nice but bit far from closest shopping area almost 15-20 mins walk.
Quite impressive with very good location. It was undergoing renovation so some of the facilities were closed. Looking forward to visit again once the renovation is completed.
