It was nice.

Posted Feb 23, 2015
They could have been explicit about the internet charge per day. I assumed free-wifi came with the hotel. Also, it was very cold in the room, even when the heat was turned up as high as possible. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Heat was struggling during snowstorm

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Heat did not work properly. Gave me an electric heater(that did not work). $25 to park, (really!! I paid for a room) $15 for wifi. I guess this is ok for business travelers, NOT for couples or families.

Avoid At All Cost!!!

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: Not one thing!
Cons: Tear it down and rebuild
Location: Some nice restaurants but walking the streets at night would be risky if there weren't 2 cops on every block. No exaggeration.
Where do I start. I was trapped in the parking garage twice in four days because of bad card readers. Parking was $20.00 per day and the internet is $10.00 per day so add $30.00 to the advertised room rate. Wood pealing from the selves in the bathroom, paint pealing from several places in the room, lobby, hauls and elevators hadn't been vacuumed for some time, toilet would not flush everything down with out 3 or 4 flushes, cold air was coming from the single pane windows, sheets were cheap and minimum thread count, but most disappointing was the electric receptacles which were so worn out the plugs kept falling out which made waking in the morning with your phone charged an unknown. Plus the lamps had broken switches making them difficult to turn on even if you could get the plug to remain in the wall. Bars on the street below produce a lot of noisy drunks on the street that make it impossible to sleep until 1:00 am. Avoid at all cost!

Convenient Location, Old Hotel

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Proximity to Yale University
Location: Lots of restaurants (of all price points) within walking distance.
Stayed at this hotel for a recent conference held at Yale University. It was the same time as something called the Walter Camp Weekend (an annual event for former/current college and NFL football payers) and the Omni was their host hotel. They seemed to have a lot of activities each day so the lobby was always packed and it took a while to get an elevator. My room faced the street and there was a lot of commotion going on every night. Not sure if this happens all of the time or because of the people staying there. Also, since the windows are not well-insulated, the room was chilly. The thermostat only goes up to 74, so I had to have maintenance raise the temperature. The room itself was comfortable, a little old but the furnishings were updated. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Overall a pleasant stay. My advice, ask for a room not facing the street.

Omni Yale

Don't see anything better in town. Was at the fairmont Boston night before. Similar price but quite different experience if that helps. Not sure if that's a fair comparison but given the price range...

Very comfortable stay for a Yale campus visit

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: There were nice surprise snacks provided by the hotel eg almond nuts and choc chip cookies although not everyone in our group received it.
Cons: It would be good if the hotel could replenish the complimentary bottle of drinking water each day. Aircon in room was not cold& may need servicing.
Location: Many cafes with walking distance- panera, Starbucks, Atticus & orange side all open early at 7am which is perfect for those suffering from jet lag.
We had room 911( 9th floor) facing the front of the hotel which had a nice clear skyline of Yale. The receptionist was helpful to suggest that we sign up for free membership of Omni to enable us to use complimentary wifi.

Attentive service

Room (premier king) was spacious and comfortable. Well situated for visit to Yale campus. What set the hotel apart though was their attentive staff. All requests were quickly and courteously dealt with.
