“Would definitely return.”
The hotel was very unique with brick walls and beautiful hardwood floors. The staff was very accomodating. The location was fantastic - within walking distance to everything.
“Great and Convenient”
Good place to stay if going to events at the Superdome. You can walk straight down Poydras. Great atmosphere - high ceilings, hard wood floors. Used to be a coffee warehouse in the 1800s.
“Would stay again!”
While staying at the Ambassador we learned this hotel was an old coffee warehouse built in the 1850's the room were very spacious and clean. The old brick walls and hardwood floors made for a wonderful get away. The hotel staff was very helpful and we were in walking distance of Bourbon St and other great atractions like the Aquarium, shopping, and tons of restaurants. The attached bar and grill at the hotel was also a great perk with wonderful food and service. I would recommend staying here if you want to save a few bucks and enjoy New Orleans!
“Wish I was there.”
This is an exceptional hotel. Location to Fulton Street and the Warehouse district is perfect. During the summer there are free concerts and crayfish on Thursday a block away. The room s are comfortable with huge tubs, tall windows, and original hard wood floors. The hotel is close to the street car and fine dinning including "7". Great palce!
“Amazing hotel. Great location. Lots of Character.”
I was 100% satisfied with the Ambassador hotel. I was nervous when booking. I usually stay on Bourbon St. The character of the building was awesome. Yes, you could here people above you walking around but it wasn't unbearable. We lost no sleep. It was walking distance to everything. We only used cabs coming home at night. The valet was good too. It seemed like everybody was checking out at the same time and the parking attendants were very fast. I even seen a manager going to get cars. I definitely recommend this hotel.
“Excellent and beautiful hotel!”
From what I've heard, this hotel was an old warehouse that was refurbished. The floors are all hardwood, and the rooms give an antique look and feel. The amenities are wonderful, I left my laptop at home and was able to use the computer in the business center for checking email. The price was a little high, considering there was no free parking for hotel guests (we went during Mardi Gras) but overall we were very satisfied with the hotel and the staff was wonderful!
“Great price/great location”
Most of the time, when I stay in a hotel, if it's clean, air conditioned, and comfortable, that's all I'm concerned about, because I usually don't stay in the room much. This one filled that bill. Staff was very friendly. I'll definitely stay there again.
“perfect for the budget traveler”
Friendly place, great location, a bit of New Orleans charm. For the price a terrific choice.
“A nice retreat from a busy city”
I loved the look of the hotel and room. There was an odor of 'old cigar', which you get used to. My colleague explained to me it was an old cigar factory, not sure if that is a fact or not. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar had good food/drinks/service. The 'free' breakfast didn't offer a whole lot of choices. However, overall, I was very pleased with the hotel, service, value for price.
“Relaxing Stay”
Hotel was in great walking location to many of the New Orleans attractions. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly.
