Under ConstructionPosted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Very nice room design/decor/quality.
Cons: Rooms should not be booked until construction is complete.
Location: Excellent location near the French Quarter.
While the room was very nice, the hallways and the entrance (everything else, basically) was very rough. I wish I knew the whole place was under construction before booking. It was ok for two days at a conference, but I would never stay there for a real vacation.

Pros: My room was very comfortable!
Enjoyed my stay. Lobby was being renovated, not a lot of amenities, but the room is very comfortable. I would stay at the Ambassador again.

Not quite there yetPosted Mar 27, 2015
Didn't particulary like the space. Dark hallways and breakfast space was a hallway. No where to sit and I get it...they are renovating but really?? I might visit for a walk though but I will certainly beware of "Pardon the Dust" forever more.

Hazardous construction sitePosted Mar 24, 2015
While the location was great and the hotel will likely be beautiful and charming when rehab is done, it is a hazardous construction site now. The maze of temporary hallways with little or no signage make it very easy for guests to wander into construction areas. The elevator ceiling panels fell during use and were never replaced. The flooded carpet outside lobby was the only pathway to rooms...

Construction aside, rooms are nicePosted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Rooms nice size, bathrooms generous, location convenient.
Cons: How long has the construction been going on? Isn't there a way to make things a little less chaotic and still continue with renovations?
Location: Just a couple blocks one direction to the French Quarter and a couple blocks the other direction to the warehouse district. Very convenient.
The lobby, which is your first impression, was pretty miserable. The front desk staff varied from fairly capable to downright clueless. The breakfast was adequate but all the food and coffee was squeezed onto a meager few tables. People that were attempting to pour coffee, add cream, etc had to share the small surface with those making toast and buttering bagels, etc. How hard is it to add another table just for those purposes? Once you move past all that clutter and chaos of the ongoing construction, the rooms were big, nice, clean and the bathrooms were spacious. The location was great-short walk to the French Quarter. One final note: the wifi is not secure.

"completed" room in an under construction hotelPosted Mar 23, 2015
Our room was completely finished in the terrible remodel. Our phone was just sitting on a nightstand because there wasn't even a phone plug in the wall for it to connect to. There was no ironing board, and it took an hour to get it brought to our room. The bathroom shower is way to skinny to have no door so water goes everywhere! All of the plugs that were recently installed are completely half-done and you have to shove your hair dryer plug to get it in. Overall, very disappointing.

Poor lighting. Upgrade is ill conceived.Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Bed Was nice.
Location: Good location. Especially close to the convention center.
Poor lighting. As in dark. Not just my room but the halls too. Not enough light, and dark paint.

Location location location!!Posted Mar 22, 2015
It was a really nice hotel. All the staff- from front desk to maintenance- were all very nice and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was standard, coffee was really good! Our room was new and very modern looking. Very comfortable bed! Now.. The best part- LOCATION. It was literally a 10-15 min walk to everything you would want to see. Bourbon st, the french market, garden district, reataurants, tours, etc. it was nice to be close to everything!! Now... The one thing i had a problem with was.. The noise in the room. I understand at pretty much every hotel ive stayed at you can somewhat hear people next to you if they are loud or slam the doors etc, but this was different. Everytime someone would walk in the room next to us, it sounded as though someone in OUR room was walking around. They are wooden floors so it would be creaking noises that really kept waking us up because we were freaked out. The first night i though the room was haunted but then i started noticing it was everytime someone next to us was walking around we would hear it.. Weird.

Good location; Poor ExperiencePosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: We could walk to dinner and many places we wanted to go.
Cons: Service in all ways
Location: It is walking distance to Bourbon Street and all the restaurants as well as to the River Walk.
The hotel was under renovation and the staff was not really all that friendly or helpful. The breakfast was poor to say the least with no place to even sit down and eat your breakfast. The television in my room did not have a remote initially. I finally got a remote and then in less than 24 hours lost all connection to cable. They then tried to charge me upon check out for access to cable, internet, and the workout room, which I must say I never found. Parking was quite expensive. The room was quite cold and moist. I felt like everything in the room had a dampness to it.
