I had recently booked this property to celebrate my 50th birthday. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized 4 days before I was supposed to arrive. I contacted Expedia and they were able to get me a credit for my airfare from United. But Bluegreen Vacations La Pension in New Orleans refused to even entertain the idea of providing a different booking date. Nor would they consider a refund. I volunteered to provide any medical documentation to prove that the cancellation was indeed due to a medical emergency. But I never heard back to see if that could be an option. I contacted the corporate office and left a voicemail and an email. Still, no response. So needless to say, we are out a significance amount of money. I will reschedule my trip to New Orleans, but I will never book there or at any of the other properties that they have.

Let’s start with the good: the staff here is very nice, and the location is fantastic in terms of being central. You’re next to a 24hr convenience store and ATM, a block into the French Quarter and walkable to all of that, and a block from Canal Street for easy Uber rides without having to make them drive into the Quarter. The rooms are clean, and have a cute little “living room” area and kitchenette with microwave, sink, and fridge. But the Queen beds are a bit small — definitely hard with my 6’5” husband. And there’s a small desk on one side of the bed, when 2 night tables would be more useful (so both people could put a water by the bed, for example). The beds are fine in terms of comfort — although the pillows do feel more like hard cotton balls than the ones you get at a nice hotel. The biggest complaint I had was the noise. The photos online show this place as being on a quiet side street with pretty balconies facing the street. Our room faced the alley, was always dark (and yes I know you don’t spend your day in the room, but it’s nice to wake up to light) — and had the loudest alley noise at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, etc. Garbage trucks, some sort of other trucks, more garbage trucks, workers rolling trash cans into the alley to dump bottles, etc. One of the hardest times I’ve had sleeping in New Orleans in 10 years of coming here unfortunately.

Best place to stay in the quarter. Far enough that it was quiet at night, but close enough to enjoy within a few blocks. Public transportation only a block away.

I really like how friendly the staff was, My boyfriend and I arrived two hours before check-in and the hotel still accommodated us for an earlier check-in. The hotel even went further ahead and included a discount wristband for neighboring restaurants, along with a map that will help you not miss out on any of the great NOLA experiences.

Excellent location and very friendly staff! We stayed in the 1-br suite. I liked the extra half bath, which was helpful for the person on the sofa bed. The sofa bed was pretty comfortable (as far as sofa beds go). We did laundry on the trip and had no issues with the machines. Overall, I quite liked this place and would stay there again! A few caveats: We didn’t realize the 1 bedroom was upstairs and not fully separated by a door. We would have preferred having a door to block the sound. Parking was more expensive and less convenient than what is listed on the website, especially if you’re taking the car in and out of the garage in a daily basis.

This was my first time in NOLA. I went for a birthday weekend. This hotel was perfectly located within blocks of Bourbon street. The hotel and room decor were amazing. The staff was so friendly and efficient and all around amazing. I would definitely stay again in the future.

Love this property and have stayed previously. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is good (always a plus in the Quarter!) My only complaint was the LOUD elevator that was adjacent to my room. Every time it went up or down, it woke me up

The staff at this boutique hotel was fabulous. Charmaine and Jasmine were bright smiles and friendly faces each day. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and that is a rarity in a hotel. 5 stars! We will be back.

The room itself is nice we stayed more near the alley way; let’s just say the dumpsters were picked up it seemed like all hours of the night…the check in staff was great but when it came to needing something wasn’t as pleasant

This place was amazing. The staff was so so so nice and helpful they made you feel so welcomed. The property was so cute and nice. I thought it was a nice location considering we didn’t have to walk very far to get where we wanted. The roof top is nice for smokers. The room was clean and everything worked as it should we didn’t have one single problem with this place. Very secure also. You have to use your card to even get into the front entrance for after hours. I would DEFINITELY stay again.

I can’t believe it is legal to rent someone a one bedroom suite that has no windows. It felt like a prison cell and smelled of mold. We both returned from this trip sick (not Covid) and I’m sure it’s from the room that cannot possibly get a bit of fresh air ever. In addition - this is the worst of the timeshares in terms of just letting you rent a room even tho they posted rooms for rent on this website. They can’t answer a simple question about public parking or transportation without a stupid tourist safety scare speech (56 cars vandalized the day before - seriously?????) or trying to sell us excursions.
That’s the only window in a one bedroom suite. How can this be legal?

We have stayed at several places in New Orleans but we liked this one by far the best. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the decor was fun. Convenient to canal st and bourbon st. We will be back and look to stay here again.

This property was perfect for my trip in June because it had a separate suite with a bathroom and kitchenette in between the room and the living room. The living room had a pull out sofa that had memory foam mattress, so it was comfy. It was also in walking distance to all the French Quarter.

2 bedroom was 2 separate apartments with adjoining door. no view at all, noisy persons at 2 4 am slamming doors constantly. Had to leave building and walk 2 doors down to very small lobby. . Just not what other places I have stayed at in other trips to New Orleans. Certainly not worth the high price I paid.

Love Hotel, but with specific disappointment
We arrive on Friday 8 July, to our surprise no valet parking, but if you attended sales pitch you’ll get free parking. We didn’t book a hotel for a time share speech. However a maintenance worker was very helpful informing us that Marriot (next door) was offering valet parking for $50 /night. Although I had paid $134 for an unattended parking ( which $ money can be refunded), for security reasons I moved my car to the Marriot’s Parking. The clerk, when offering “free” parking should offer the Marriot,s alternative, to help guests make their own choice…And on Hotels.com, Bluegreen Vacation should make the Parking situation clear vs. offering valet parking

This property has a lot of character and a definite New Orleans vibe. Only negative might be the selling by the concierge desk---I assume this is some kind of time share. Very convenient to the Quarter and Garden District trolley but away from the noise.

The hotel itself does not have parking, they offer for you to use their offsite parking if you attend a class. The decorations in the room we got were scary for our children. Theres music and partying all night long, and a lot of people openly smoking weed walking the streets late in the evening. Parking around the are runs 50-60$ per night. There is a lot of homeless in the area, my husband saw a man dead in the street that the paramedics were unable to resuscitate. Also, the website says valet parking, but that was not an option given to me, maybe if you buy a time share from them its available.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the location was excellent for exploring the French Quarter area. There were some issues with our room that reduced our enthusiasm. This included a lack of hot water for showers (the water remains lukewarm), and a second toilet in the suite which would not flush properly and therefore could not be used.

This was a charming boutique hotels with a lot of character. We loved the decor throughout and the balcony. Walkable to everything we wanted, I would definitely stay here again
