Close to the French Quarter but quiet

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Loved the layout of the room!
Cons: Don't change a thing it is perfect.
The Hotel Staff was the best! Everyone was friendly and always ready to help. The Hotel was comfortable, very clean and smells great. The layout of the rooms are fantastic with a sitting room when you walk in and the bedroom at the back keeping out noises. Location is great, close enough to walk to the French Quarter but far enough away from all the noise. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone that wants to be comfortable and treated like they matter.

Good location

The location was very good. In French Quarter but.not in a noisy area. The room was a good size but we were two adults with two pre-teens and were given a queen bed but with a fold out sofa that was not very comfortable. The first time in te US that we dont get two double beds.

Nice hotel on edge of French Quarter

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: They should replace the carpeting and make sure the toilet is functioning properly. They might also consider where they locate their guests.
Location: Easy walk to the french quarter - Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, the riverfront.
The room was clean except for the typical sticky and stained carpeting. The toilet was very noisy when it was flushed and clogged on our last day. The walls were thin so you could easily hear the boisterous swearing young men in the room next to ours, especially at 3 am. We also were woken up early due to the noisy demolition/ construction site outside of our window. We stayed for four nights so we would have preferred a better room, as in less noisy!!

Close to the action yet quiet!

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Cons: Coffee/breakfast area could use more help at busy times.
Great hotel! Front desk staff and bell hops always welcomed us upon arrival or wished us well upon departure. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were one block off Canal Street and one block off Bourbon Street. Close but yet far enough away to rest peacefully.

Great place to stay

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Beautiful rooms, which does not show on the website.
Cons: Breakfast should be included at this price level. Valet parking is too expensive, $ 38.00. Park your car across the street for $20.00 - $25.00 a day.
Location: French market, Jackson Square, Garden District, ghost tour, tour of the cemetery, and swamp tour. Check places to eat on the internet.
We had a fantastic room with two king size beds. My son had his own king size bed. What a treat. On the website it showed one spacious room with two beds. In our room we were able to close off our area with a nicely hinged door. I also liked the high ceilings and the view from our room was very decent. The bathroom was nicely tiled with a glass shower door and a modern Kohler sink. The hotel is on the edge of the French Quarter, one to two blocks to Canal Street and about two or three blocks to Bourbon Street. Jackson Square and the French Market are about 20 minutes away.

Would not return to this Marriott

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Clean and well-maintained, free Wifi, easy location in French Quarter
Cons: Sound proofing! (hear every word from hallway/neighboring rooms); staff okay, but didn't seem happy; towels were thin/scratchy; bad hair dryer
Location: French Quarter, easy drive to Tulane/LSU, downtown Breville location
Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience at this Marriott. The good parts: nice location in the French Quarter, easy walk to restaurants and the touristy sites such as Bourbon Street. Hotel is clean and well-maintained. Free WiFi. Easy drive to Tulane and LSU. Not so good: Staff was minimally pleasant/helpful and the Manager (who we got to know well) was unable to solve guest problems. Soundproofing in rooms is non-existent. You hear every word from the hallway, the street and the neighboring rooms. We stayed 3 nights, and moved rooms twice-- once because of wind-turbine line equipment noise running all night, and once because we had rowdy neighbors partying all night. Called front desk multiple times between 3-6am (they went to the wrong room each time and heard nothing, so the problem was not solved). There were a number of rowdy guests issues. No hot water on day 2...so a cold shower to start the day. Less important: towels in room #1 were terrible-- thin, scratchy, not hotel standard. Towels in room #2 and #3 were fine.

FRENCH QUARTER HOTEL

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: LOCATION #1 aspect But I can't discount the service, beautiful room, great shower, and super comfy bed!
Cons: Put an HD tv in the bedroom too please.
Location: The French Quarter and all its glory is right outside the door. Perfect walking distance to EVERYthing!
Awesome stay! From bell hops to front desk: excellent, friendly, knowledgeable service! Super comfy room! The shower!!! OH! Best Part: walk right out the front door and you're in the French Quarter.

Nice in the Quarter

Everything was really nice. Request higher floors for street noise control.
