“Great Stay at Drury”
I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and we had plenty of clean towels. The free breakfast and dinner were fantastic and the free complimentary alcoholic beverages were awesome. In addition, the hotel staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. The hotel is located on the trolley line and made getting to the French Quarter a breeze. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
“It's What's Inside That Counts”
The Drury Inn & Suites on Poydras is not much to look at on the outside, but if you didn't step inside you might miss this under-rated gem. The common areas are lovely, with comfortable and attractive furnishings, some city-appropriate wrought iron railings (at least they appear to be), and marble tile. It's quite clean. Check-in was delayed, however, due to system maintenance, but otherwise uneventful My room was lovely - good king bed, true nonsmoking (i.e., can't smell it around), marble bathroom, comfortable desk chair, good TV, never heard neighbors (if there were any). Only two small annoyances to report in-room. One was that the ethernet cable was busted I could have filed a fix report, but I wasn't going to be in my room much and did not want to invite traffic while I was gone. So I just used WiFi. Second was that my drink card somehow disappeared from the top of the dresser after my first night. For the second night, I requested and got a new one. Regular visitors to Drury Inn & Suites will know that the heavy hors d'oeuvres and included beer/wine each afternoon attract many a budget traveler. Breakfast is substantial too, but the food is just passable ... in New Orleans you're really missing out. But it can save big and so these places can be overrun with families, esp. on weekends. Only other disappointment was bad directions back to I-10. There's self-parking in an open lot; it's much less expensive than most, but expect the birds to nail your car.
“Very impressed.”
We had a wonderful stay. We couldn't have been more pleased with the cleanliness, security(key card for access to not only room but main entrance after 10 pm, parking lot, elevator-we felt very secure), location(Poydras is a major street and there is also a bus/cablecar stop at the corner), food(huge hot breakfast buffet and late afternoon snack that can serve as a meal if necessary). I considered 3 other hotels when booking this one and after seeing those 3 in person felt even better about my choice of the Drury. Literally no complaints.
“Convenient and good”
Arrived after a long drive and easy parking was a welcome facility. Reception staff were laid back but friendly. Room was a little small and bathroom layout not entirely to our liking but overall the hotel was in a good location and we have no regrets at booking it. We would use it again.
“Great location.”
The Staff was friendly and very helpful.
“perfect hotel”
The hotel had everything you could want on vacation. Breakfast, happy hour, hot tub & pool, walking distance to sports bars, Bourbon Street, church and the Jazz half marathon!! Thank you very much.
“Very nice - good experience!”
Loved the hotel. Only one drawback. Beds are small.
“Great hotel”
This was a great hotel - friendly and really loved the popcorn and sodas in the evening and hot food and drinks in the evening. Only irritant was an odd banging which sounded like a door slamming and started up about 7.30 every morning
“Extremly helpful staff and great accomadation”
Staff was extremly helpful in terms of providing directions to locations suggesting activities. Allowed us to change rooms to be close traveling companions despite being quite full. Location was great making most attractions accessable. Would stay there on a return trip.
“Loved our stay!”
We had a wonderful stay at Drury Inn last week! The location was great - in the quiet part of the financial district, yet only about four blocks to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. We didn't use our car once while we were there - could walk everywhere. The hotel was beautiful, and the room was great - very large and had a fridge and a microwave. Very clean - my biggest requirement in a hotel. Only downside of the room was a poor view of the alley, but we weren't in the room much anyway. The service was great - a warm breakfast including waffles, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage and more. The evening kick back was nice, but the lines were long for the drinks, and the seating is tight, especially right at 5:30pm. Would recommend going a little closer to the ending time at 7pm. We used this as our meal one night, but didn't want macaroni and chicken strips for our dinner every night. This would be perfect for kids though - definitely enough food for a meal. I would highly recommend this hotel for travelers with or without children. If we ever go back to New Orleans, this is where we'll stay!
