“Much more than expected”
The experience was amazing. The bed and breakfast was much more than what we expected. One of the reasons I selected 5 Continents was reviews online and hence I wanted to share my experience also. It was a surprise trip for my wife and she was equally happy with the place. Chef and owner Jess made sure our experience in New Orleans was unforgettable. The breakfasts in the mornings were something we looked forward to everyday. He made excellent recommendations about the places to eat and see and were not disappointed at all. We rented a car but most of the time we left it at B&B. We walked to most places and at nights would take taxi back. Taxi cost was $7-10 depending on how far we were from B&B. I would strongly recommend staying at 5 Continents.
“This is the Place to Be”
I normally don't do reviews but I just had to make an exception in this case. I have never been to New Orleans but I enjoyed myself especially due to the stay at the Five Continents Bed and Breakfast. The place feels like home. It is extremely clean and comfortable. Our host Jess was the best. I have never experienced such hospitality. If you are in New Orleans Five Continents is the place to stay. I will definitely recommend it to family, friends and strangers. Your trip will not be complete unless you stay at the Five Continents.
“Wouldn't stay anywhere else in New Orleans”
Beautifully restored building edge of French Quarter, extremely considerate knowledgable host, very clean and well equipped room with refrigerator and drinks. Room -- really two rooms -- was extremely quiet and comfortable. . Homemade hot breakfast delicious, and advice of host of what to see and what to avoid very helpful. I didn't have a car or much time, so I took cabs. Cab company recommended by host sent cabs within minutes; fare to downtown about $10 with tip.
“Five Continents Bed and Breakfast is the place to be!”
My roommate and I recently visited New Orleans for vacation and had the distinct pleasure of staying in Five Continents Bed & Breakfast. Jess Beaty has definitely cornered the market on hospitality. The rooms and beds were huge and extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious each day and Mr. Beaty was quite knowledgeable and provided us with many tips about the sites in and around the French Quarter to enhance our visit. Mr. Jess Beaty has created an environment that is warm and inviting and worth every penny of your stay! We will definitely stay in the 5 Continents B&B again and will recommend to others!!!
“Why do we bother with hotels”
Over the last 5 years we have been heavy into traveling and each time we have stayed in a hotel. Obviously some nicer than others so when we gave serious consideration to a Bed and Breakfast we were apprehensive. We read many reviews from a few sites and were a little nervous. The owner of this B&B really cares about his home and was very attentive to our needs. A lot of hotels now a days miss that point unless you spend a lot of money. Sure, I guess we could spend that money but why? If and when we go back to New Orleans, we will definately stay there again.
“wonderful bed and breakfast”
Jess was a wonderful host and we were very comfortable in his lovely home. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The house is approximately a 20 minute walk from the popular tourist area the French Quarter so you do need to catch a taxi at night but it only costs around $7. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.
“BCS Game”
It's just outside the French quarter, maybe 8 blocks to the middle of Bourbon St. but its safe to walk. Very clean, excellent breakfast, safe off street parking. I walked or took a taxi everywhere. Taxi to Bourbon St. is $7. Some hotels in the Quarter charge $30 or $40 a day for parking so be aware of that. Would definitely stay there again.
“Wonderful Host, Beautiful B&B, Stay Here!”
This B&B was simply wonderful! It was very quiet in a neighborhood NE of the Quarter (though I-10 provided us with nightly sirens of EMT's on the way to Tulane Med Cntr). When you walk through the door you just stepped back in time. Beautifully decorated lower level. We had the "Asian Suite" which was the perfect size for my wife and I. The bathroom is a bit...uhhh...cozy, but no need to spend an inordinate amount of time in there anyway! Our host, Peter, was amazing. An extremely attentive and helpful man, without being intrusive. Breakfast was fantastic, eggs your way, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, etc. It was delicious. NOT recommended for families, as the artifacts would not be considered "kid-friendly." The room was beautifully appointed and Peter and his sidekick, Akko, made sure the mini-fridge was stocked with sodas and water and sweet tea. About a 1/4 mile walk to the Quarter and a short cab ride to the CBD. Stay at the 5 Continents and rest assured you will have the time of your life in the Big Easy (Also, we were there a week before Mardi Gras, and the neighbors along Esplanade "dressed" their houses for the occasion. What an extra added treat!)
“Home away from home!”
Gracious hosts. Great rooms. Great complimentary breakfast. Great FREE gated parking--you get your own gate remote. The bed was a traditional inner spring mattress, but both my husband and I slept comfortably on the queen-sized bed even though we're used to a king-sized memory foam mattress. Our friend slept comfortably on the fold out sofa bed. We were there 5 nights and woke up every morning feeling refreshed, ready for a day of fun in NOLA! We stayed in the Asian Suite which is upstairs. Recommended attractions: Natchez steamboat tour, Oak Alley plantation (an hour's drive away), the Aquarium, St. Louis Cathedral & Jackson Square, Cajun Encounters swamp tour (they picked us up from the B&B), beignets at Cafe du Monde, the Riverfront Cafe on Decatur Street, New Orleans Museum of Art, and shopping in the French Quarter and at the French Market. Even after 5 full days, we still didn't have enough time to do everything! We plan to go back and we plan to stay again at the 5 Continents!
“Beautiful House & Yummy food!”
I wasn't really looking for a WHOLE lot since we would be out most of the time exploring NOLA. We wanted a comfortable place to stay that would give us a nice breakfast. Five Continents delivered on all accounts. Walter & Peter were gracious hosts, the house is beautiful, and the food was excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here...
