Old world charm with modern convenience

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: The decor was old world luxurious with antique furniture, and spacious rooms. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The window heater air /conditioner works well but is quite noisy along with traffic from the street
Location: It's about a15 min walk from the north eastern corner of French quarter, where there are many activities.
If you're looking for old world world charm about a 15 min walk from the French quarter then this is it. The owner is very hospitable, helpful and cooks a wonderful breakfast.

Quiet, charming Inn...not far from French Quarter

Posted Feb 13, 2014
Loved our stay here! Only a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter, and the bus stops right outside the door as well. We stayed in the Eurasian Suite with our 11 year old daughter. The suite has two bedrooms and an adjoining bath. It was quiet and cozy. The rest of the house is lovely, with high ceilings and interesting decor. Peter, the host, is gracious, knowledgable, and makes a great breakfast! We arrived very late the first night but Peter stayed up to greet us. Akko the dog is also a highlight...quite a friendly, quiet guy. We highly recommend this Inn...we had a wonderful stay.

The rooms were comfortable , the hosts helpful. The proximity to the French Quarter wonderful. A small issue, the room lights were a bit dark, hard to read.

The BNB was well maintained with very friendly and helpful proprietors. We showed up early, and they were accomodating. After a long wait for a cab to the French Quarter, the owner gave us a lift in his car. Wonderful people.

This was the first bed and breakfast my husband and I have stayed in. It far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful, large, clean room. The breakfast was amazing and the B & B managers were very friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again.

Honeymoon

Posted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: The spacious, exotically-decorated rooms, the porch, the location - the lovely breakfasts and chats with the hosts.
Cons: Maybe offer cereal (even dry cereal, fine) as option to the richer (and delicious!) full breakfasts.
Location: Walking distance to French Quarter. MUSIC!
We loved our stay here! The "European Suite" - was two rooms and spacious (with a porch) and was perfect for relaxing and reading as our ambitions were minimal on our honeymoon. Peter and Walter were gracious hosts - and cooks - and the only note is that the B&B is on the edge of the Treme neighborhood and an area that can be unsafe at night. Just take common sense precaution. For us, being there only enhanced our experience as loving NOLA means getting to know all its neighborhoods and flavors. One of our most favorite cities and when we return, which I hope is soon, we hope to stay again at the Five Continents.

Delightful

Pros: Location, price, cleanliness , breakfasts.
Location: City Park is one direction on Esplanade and the French Quarter is the other.
5 Continents is in a great location. You could walk to the French Quarter if ambitious, or take a nice walk down Esplanade toward City Park. We enjoyed the comfort and quiet of the Eurasian Suite. This is an old mansion so you should expect to climb stairs. The main level where we dined for breakfast was lovely and we were surrounded by an eclectic combination of antiques and modern furniture. Peter was the perfect host. Helpful and friendly when needed but not intrusive. He gave us great suggestions for spots to see or places to eat. The breakfasts he prepared were great and reflected the local fare such as an omelet with crawfish or alligator sausage. Akko, the dog, was a lovely "greeter" each morning. We will definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Stay Away from the Hustle

Posted Jul 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
My boyfriend and I stayed here in the blue Asian room two nights before moving downtown for a work convention. Our experience was excellent. The host was gracious and helpful, and the breakfasts were superb. There are a few quirks in the room considering the age of the building, like a small tub area and the sink across the room, but the rooms were decorated nicely and the bed was quite comfortable. It was always a quiet and cool sanctuary after our walks in the heat if July.
