Pros: Location, safety, room/condo floorplan
Cons: Replace/refurbish all the furniture & paint
Location: Great music on Frenchman street, a reasonable walk into the French Quarter including the French Market, Café Dumonde, etc.
The Frenchman St location couldn't have been better for us (we love the music at night). The hotel complex was very convenient & safe & had a relaxing patio & pool & dedicated parking which was great since we drove in. The room setup itself (1BR condo w/cool parquet floors) was great w/a separate bedroom and sitting/living room w/TV and kitchen. However, the furniture was worn & not very nice (wingchair w/ripped upholstery & saggy plaid couch & particleboard side tables w/water damage) and seemed like post-college 1st apt. castoffs. The paint throughout was a bit dinged up from luggage - some fresh paint & some new or refurbishment to furniture would have made the room go from OK to great. Service was very good, & a very nice surprise arrived 2 days after we returned home - before I even realized it was missing the hotel manager FedExed some jewelry that I had left - cool. We would stay there again, but hope they fluff the rooms a bit in the meantime.

Great location and cleanPosted Nov 4, 2013
This place was situated in the just the right location for us. Close to good food, music, shopping, far enough away from French Quarter madness. There are a few clubs right across the street, but the noise was not a problem. The price was more than fair, our room was large with fully stocked kitchen (appliances and cookware), nice living room, and a door right out to the pool and hot tub. Only draw back was a bath tub that required gymnast moves to access. When we go back to NOLA, this will be our headquarters.

Great location for music loversPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Location, comfort, staff
Cons: Other than the drainage issue, everything was great.
Location: The Blue Nile nightclub and The Praline Connection restaurant are just across the street along with many other clubs and restaurants.
This is a great location, just a few blocks from the French Quarter. Comfortable, clean rooms. The only issue that I had was the bathtub didn't drain well so you were standing in three to four inches of water by the time a shower was complete. If you aren't a fan on live music until the wee hours of the morning, find another location to stay. There was live music on Friday/Saturday night until 6:00 a.m.

The Real Frenchmen Orleans at 519Posted Oct 25, 2013
Pros: Nothing, the only redeeming factor was the location which was close enough to everything and in a fairly safe area.
Cons: Rooms not as shown in pictures, this is false advertising.
Location: Location is great, close enough to everything to walk but on the outskirts of French Quarter so you can sleep at night.
The Frenchmen Orleans at 519 rooms that you are stuck in are nothing like the pictures that are shown. They have some rooms that look like that but I was told that they are for time-share owners?? The room that we were provided had very sparse and damaged furnishings. The living room area had a miss-matched couch and love seat both complete with stains and damage and an old style 19" TV!!! No flat screens, like in the pictures. The kitchen microwave had a large crack in the door. The two bedrooms had very sparse furnishings and no TV's. The one bathroom was very old and dingy and the towel bar was falling off of the wall. The pictures that they show are false advertising and should be removed from the site, they need to show the actual room that you will be staying in for the money!!!!!!

Great location right on Frenchmen St.Posted Sep 24, 2013
Great condo style hotel right on Frenchmen Street. For those of you who don't know Frenchmen, it's 6 blocks of some the best bars and music in New Orleans. Also, walking distance to the Quarter, if you prefer the more tourist areas.

Good for a groupPosted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was pleased to find a hotel that could easily fit my group. We had 3 adults and 3 kids. The service was great. We did change rooms because of a smell in our first room but they were really nice about it. You have to know the hotel is old. The bedding and beds are not luxurious. There isn't an elevator. These are things that I don't particularly mind but members of my group did. All in all, it's a good location for walking. And you won't find another hotel that will fit a group. And parking was $12 a night! Not bad at all!

Right in the middle of the action, and very comforPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Spacious rooms, like a small apartment!
Cons: No vent in the bathroom. Very small bother.
Location: Right outside is a bustling sidewalk and street scene. Music all night, but not in the room!
A staycation and we will return! Comfy beds, full kitchen (didn't even use it), and a very hot hot tub. The pool looked a little murky, however. Can't beat the location.

The picture of the hotel on-line are pictures of their time share units. The units that are for rent are in horrid condition, closet doors falling off, refrigerator smelled terrible, bathroom in poor condition, overall very dirty.
