New Orleans visit

Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: Everything was great.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Everything was within walking distance of hotel.
Excellent experience at the hotel. Everyone was nice. We had to leave due to a family emergency and the hotel staff were very understanding and accommodating to our needs.

Close to the French Quarter

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Close to the French Quarter, easy transit options.
Cons: Air condition could be quieter in the hotel.
Location: French Quarter, Good eating options (although a bit too commercial). Authentic food head to Coop's near the end of the quarter.
Hotel very convenient to the French Quarter - about a 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street. Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious however their air conditioning system in the rooms are loud due to age. When it comes on you can really hear it - not so bad if you're exhausted from your stay in New Orleans, but if you're a light sleeper you may want to look elsewhere. Canal and Charles Street are close by as well making it convenient for Transit. For $3 you can get an all day pass and head to the Garden District to tour the the famous Lafayette Cemetery, and Mid City to walk around City Park.

Acceptable hotel, close to French quarter

Posted May 5, 2015
Check-in is a little strange, you enter the building to no sign of a hotel and no staff, by the elevators is a sign directing you to the 11th floor where you will find the hotel reception. Check-in staff were pleasant and directed me to my room on the 16th floor. Don't forget your room key as you have to insert this in to the lift card reader before you can select any of the accommodation floors. The room was large and spacious, however the beds were so hard it was like sleeping on the floor. Not at all comfortable and one of them made clangs and squeaks anytime you shifted, also the air-con pointed directly at one of them so it is either off or one of you is cold all night. Noise was a problem, not from the street but from the express elevators that make a distinctive whooshing noise loud enough to wake me in the room I was in, the air on was also very noisy. Aside from the above bad points, staff were friendly, bathroom was clean and decent toiletries were provided including shower gel and mouthwash on top of normal soaps and shampoos etc. If you're going to New Orleans to party, and will be passing out drunk after Jazz Fest/Mardi Gras etc. Then it's passable, but I wouldn't choose to stay again. Fitness room equipment wasn't in great condition and the rooftop pool was more of a small puddle, but good views and ok for kids I guess, as an adult you'd reach each end in about 2 strokes. Overall, average but disappointing for the price, I've had better motel stays.

Good location and nice front desk staff.

The front desk staff was awesome and the concierge Floyd was very helpful. The physical location if the hotel was central to to the trolley cars and canal street but yet far enough were you wouldn't feel uncomfortable going outside the hotel after dark. The hotel restaurant was the only negative, after sitting at our table for 20 minutes with no water or a how do you do we left and went someplace else. All in all it was a nice hotel and I would recommend it to others with children.
