Close Enough to Culture

Concierge was very hospital and helpful. Hotel was near the cool spots. I wished room had a refrigerator. This hotel was not a boutique hotel. It needs updates, but it was clean. The air conditioning was really cold even on low. I felt I got a really basic room. No terrace, no frig, windows were tiny. Shower water wasn't hot enough.

Competent staff. Horrible hotel

Took 30 minutes for water to warm for a luke warm shower. Room was always damp and either too hot and musty or too cold and freezing. My view out the window was a brick wall and rusted fire escape. Scaffolding covered the entire front of the building. Sink did not drain. TV cut in and out for the entire stay. The front desk staff, the gentlemen that helped with luggage and valet parked the vehicle were always accommodating and polite Will not stay there again. Expected much much more from the Hilton Hotel chain.

Cons: bed & pillows but I have a very bad back
Location: everything was in walking distance for me & my family
the staff at hotel great, room had plenty of room & clean, would return for stay when I come back

Hotel convenient to Erench Quarter.

Pros: The hotel is close enough to the quarter and very close to garden district. Easy to get even during rush hour,
Location: walking distance to french quarter, bus stop or street car one block up cabs are abundent aquarium , zoo,Magazine St , easy 15 min to lakeshore.
The employees were courteous and respectful. The valet team were the best they were very helpful with our doors and our packages. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and quite.Plenty of towels and pillows. The hotel was gorgeous and historical. Lots of marble and deco.

Nice Hotel close to the everything

The hotel was nice. The staff was friendly and it is near the Superdome, Bourbon, and French Quarter. I did have a maintenance issue and they moved me to a new room right away. Some major cons included the smell of the hotel/rooms (smelled old because it is) and the $39 parking fee.

Parking staff a liitle too young and did not care about my car. Mud all over the mats and music blasting on a rap station...Overnight valet $40, across the street covered parking $20....

Pros: The History. It was an old masonic temple.
Cons: Really needs to be updated but it was clean and comfortable with a great staff.
Location: A bit of a walk to the French Quarter but not too bad, nothing much to do at the hotel. There is a tiny bar in Luke but did not look inviting at all.
Just spent one night but it was nice. The one single thing that could have kept me there would have been a hotel lounge. You have so much space with all of the ballrooms etc.

Good Location & Interesting Historical Property

Cons: Training for the valet staff on customer service.
Location: Have a cocktail at the Sazerac Bar in the nearby Roosevelt Hotel.
My husband and I stayed at the Hilton for a long weekend. It's located just a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street in the quieter Central Business District. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The restaurant, Luke, is fabulous and worth a visit even if you're not staying at the hotel. The front desk clerk, Judith, was very accommodating about finding us another room when we had some concerns about the room we initially were assigned. The building is a former Masonic Lodge with many of the original architectural details. The workout facility has nice, new machines and free weights. The only down side we found was that the valet staff were oddly unobservant of people arriving or needing help with negotiating the heavy front doors. The hotel would do well to better train these staff members since they help create the initial and last impression of the property.
