The hotel staff was very friendly. My room was large and very comfortable. And whoever designed the upgrades for the hotel, which is currently under minor construction, did an amazing job.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Shower door was not installed properly, so water would get all over the bathroom while showering. Not only was there no water bottles in the room, they did not even sell them in the lobby! All ice machines were not working except for one. Only one of the two elevators worked. Finally, no self parking was available, so I had to pay for valet everyday!

This will be a nice hotel once the renovation is completed but we should have been told that the hotel was in the middle of this project before we booked. The room was nice and clean, staff members were very pleasant and responsive, and the small restaurant and bar was nice. But the lobby and outdoor seating shown on the website were not available. And sharing the one tiny elevator with construction teams and materials all day was a problem. The hotel should place a note on the website indicating the renovation.

The place is in the middle of a major renovation. I feel like they should have closed for awhile. No bar, one elevator, horrible fumes. Guys working on Sunday. The place WILL be great, But I guess they really needed the cash flow and couldn't afford to close.

Weekend at the Tonnelle
All staff members were very kind my newly renovated room was beautiful. Valet wasn’t expensive. Great shower pressure . Water got really hot. The AC worked great. Room looked like it hadn’t even been slept in before. It still smelled like fresh paint so I did spray some air freshener to make it smell a little more cozy. Renovation is still going on in the lobby and the elevators, but everything else was really nice. The decor in the room is so pretty. There are beautiful paintings a full body mirror chaise lounges at the end of the bed the bathroom is huge. The toilet is separated by a wall so if your two children need to both use the restroom the child using the toilet will have privacy while the other child is brushing their teeth or showering. The lamps were modern. One was a floor lamp, one was on the nightstand, and the other was on the desk. I believe the tv was at least a 65 inch. I was hoping for a few more channels, but that was the only disappointment. I didn’t eat at the hotel, so I am not sure how the food is .Be careful when booking with a 3rd party site. My room was paid for already, but the card the used for incidentals got charged again for the room. I explained my discrepancy at the front desk, and it was fixed in minutes . My daughter said it was the nicest hotel she’s ever stayed in.

We had no idea that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and/or that some rooms had already been refurbished which we heard from other residents had serious issues anyway. Ours definitely had not been refurbished. The state of the bed headboard was hidden at first by the pillows and we were quite shocked when we saw it. The housekeeping was poor, had to ask three times one day for the bed to be made, some incorrect coffee pods given (they were for a different coffee making system) and the only way we could get water into the coffee machine was by squashing a paper cup to provide a kind of spout. Pouring from a glass resulted in 'water everywhere'. The rug was not cleaned once during the whole week. The door to the bathroom was so bad that I was unable to to get out of there one time and an engineer had to be called, thank goodness my husband was with me. The TV only worked on a couple of channels, someone came and told us it was caused by the storm and he would come come and adjust it. He never came back. Various food items were unavailable on both the breakfast and the one time that we ate in the evening. Toast was always cold. Despite the apology for there only being one lift, it was frustrating trying to share it with workers who were moving large items and making it unavailable. The breakfast servers were really lovely and very helpful. Lady at Reception was cold and indifferent and more interested in her phone than the residents.

Horror show in NOLA
Hotel is under much needed Reno. Only one elevator working sharing with the garbage, the workers, the cleaning staff. No one got any instructions right. No safe in room, no regular coffee either. Would NRVER had stayed here if knew it was being renovated. Too far from downtown and very busy with homeless. Overall 1 star is too much!

They only had one elevator working and that one was small, slow and clearly going trough some renovation. Lobby was decent after seemingly going through some renovation but upstairs rooms were awful. Disintegrating headboards, broken faucet, shower door…cleaning people never showed up one day yet had there carts in the hallway ALL day. Decent location though and seemed safe.

This is a property in transition. They are managing the renovations well and we were not bothered. The rooms & bathrooms were spacious and well appointed. We had a really nice view from our 7th floor windows. The bar & restaurant are limited but we had a tasty dinner and hearty breakfast. Staff was friendly & helpful. Would recommend, a great value.

A bit below expectation, but ok
The staff was very friendly! The room showed some wear and tear (e.g. at the headboards of the beds, the wall, in the bathroom, ...). While there was coffee and tea (2 portions), there was no bottle with water. There was also no fridge to keep something cool. The safe was locked when we wanted to use it. Only one of two elevators were working while our stay of three days. The location was ideal for us - close to the street car, so all places we wanted to visit could be reached comfortably.

Hotel Tonnelle made the trip even better
The perfect spot next to good food, beautiful location, conveniences, and the trolley stops right in front. The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly! We would definitely stay here again!

Loved streetcar just outside hotel, fares inexpensive with easy access to Tulane University and also French Quarter

Absolute worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The hotel staff who greeted me and checked me in was terrible rude and condescending. I asked about on site parking and they only offered valet for $34. There is plenty of street parking, so don’t let them rip you off. The floor they put my wife and I on stunk of carpet glue and gave us a headache and the AC barely worked. Took until 10 PM for the AC to go below 80. This was the tail end of a trip to celebrate my 40th birthday which was the day we were in New Orleans and I was too exhausted and defeated to deal with the front desk who was already very unhelpful. I would have complained the next morning, but the manager already had her hands full with someone screaming at her in the phone about losing their reservation. I checked out and left as quick as I could after confirming there were no incidentals and the hold on my card would be lifted. Days later I noticed that the hold had not been lifted and later that month I noticed they force posted another $38 to my card. Never ordered food, never rented anything, never damaged anything. This place sucks, stay away. Stay anywhere but here.
