The staff worked to ensure we were happy with our stay. When I arrived, I requested not to be placed in specific locations. Will made a special effort, including personally walking up and checking the readiness of the room, to ensure I was happy with my location. The security in the building helped assure my daughters and my safety when a person from Bourbon Street had gotten a bit too intoxicated. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the location (perfectly in the middle of the French Quarter) was quiet. We could walk to all the sites we had on our agenda. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Right in the heart of the qtr, walkable to everywhere. Wine bar right off the courtyard. Breakfast as well, but there are better options nearby if you are willing to wait for a table.

The staff was very accommodating and even let us check in early! It’s a quick walk around the French quarter and great if you’re on foot. The fire alarm went off at 2:30 am which really killed us, but other than that, it was a great place!

Old New Orleans charm with a center courtyard. Perfect location for walking the French Quarter. Half a block from Bourbon street but even though our room was on the street it wasn’t noisy. Never had any issues so didn’t interact with the staff. Not fancy but just right for our visit. We had a great time.

I would have given the hotel a 5 star rating, but I was disappointed with the actual room choice they gave us. The property is clean and nice. They have an attached bar, 21st Amendment that was really great! However, it was not explained to us that the noise coming from Bourbon Street would be excessive at all times of the night. They had rooms that were away from Bourbon Street and probably would have been just fine with little to no noise, but they booked us in a room right on the street. If looked nice at first when we opened the doors to the balcony. The weather was great and we were impressed. The problems started at 2am when the garbage trucks showed up. And, we were only staying for 1 night, so it wasn't like we were going to change rooms in the middle of the night. There were plenty of empty rooms far away from the street. I am just disappointed that they didn't go over this with us and make sure we knew there would be a LOT of noise throughout the night. Primarily from garbage trucks picking up glass bottles and such at 2,3,4,5 am. It was rough. We know much better for our next NOLA visit.

My room was quite large and had a large bathroom too. The hotel has a boutique feel to it. But the room was dark. I had requested a room on the second floor overlooking the courtyard and I got exactly what I had requested, although I did not realize how dark it would be. I'm a person who loves brightness and sun, and this did not sit well with me. The front desk staff for the most part was wonderful. Debbie Ann was especially cheerful and accommodating all day, and Stacy helped me to get the room I requested. I did not get his name, but the man working in the dining room for breakfast was amazing. We ate there twice and he remembered our particular tastes and orders Others on the front desk staff did their jobs however were not particularly pleasant and their stress showed in their demeanors. I would have liked to see Debbie Ann every day! I would definitely go back to this hotel again.

From early check-in, to extra coffee, complimentary water, spacious and comfy room, I just really enjoyed my stay. Literally every single member of staff I encountered were helpful and friendly and really just lovely. I'll certainly stay again, as and when I need to.

It was being renovated so the tarp is unsightly. You can hear Bourbon street at night. AC worked but not as cold as it should be. The first room’s AC did t work at all. Staff is great and so convenient to Bourbon St.

Hotel is located 1/2 block away from Bourbon st, but was still very quiet. Great location, close to everything. Room was very clean, beds were very comfortable. Staff was very nice and very helpful. Overall an excellent stay !

Absolutely great stay! Was driving cross country and stayed in New Orleans for one night to experience the city for the first time. Had a great experience with Sonja and Debbie Ann at the front desk who were incredibly welcoming and gave us some tips for touring the city. Got a room upgrade thanks to being Platinum with expedia room was very clean (which is a must for me) and very large and comfortable. Shower was excellent! Overall great stay, walking distance to so much of the French Quarter and even the trolleys to take you beyond the quarter. Will definitely stay again!!

Good older hotel, which makes it more interesting than new. Excellent location for walking everywhere in the French Quarter. Nice courtyards to relax in at the end of the day.

The location was great. We were worried that it would be noisy because of how close it is to Bourbon st. but we couldn’t hear anything. Nice hotel.

The staff at this hotel are truly amazing! Debbie at the front desk was extremely caring and empathetic when we finally arrived to check in. Our driver that was booked through Expedia and Carmel was a horrible experience, when Delta delayed the release of baggage and changed carousels for pick up multiple times, our driver left us stranded at the airport. I had prepaid for the private meet and greet, met with the driver outside while my husband waiting for our luggage and when i went back inside to let my husband know the pick up location, our driver left. 3 hours after landing, we checked into hotel where Debbie gave us our bottle of wine, free drink tickets and breakfast tickets. She made our stay so much better by just understanding and apologizing for our mishap, which should've come through Carmel. It wasn't her responsibility to fix it, but she did. Bravo Debbie and team. I will only stay at this hotel for future visits and never book with Carmel.

They should have like free coffee in the morning to enjoy in their garden area, the coffee makers in the room were useless, their Weekend Brunch is overpriced., However the staff is wonderful, room was comfortable and clean.

The hotel itself is great! I would recommend asking for another blanket depending on what time of year you go. Be aware that this is in an area with limited parking (unless you do valet) and tons of foot traffic. It is next to Bourbon street so the night life is always poppin!

The property is quaint, think Comfort Inn type with historical context because of location. It's in the heart of French Quarter which is highly walkable in that everything is within few blocks, which is convenient. However, after dark, you really don't want to go out due to proximity to Bourbon Street, too many homeless start laying down their digs for the night mixed with alcoholic induced chaos. The property itself is clean, lighting is really dark in bathroom along with black tiles (is there suppose to be a haunted creepy ambiance??). I wasn't sure, so I asked for new light bulbs, which may or may not have been replaced. Basically you had to do your business in dark dark shadows. Mini fridge in the room, great for chilling drinks, but not so helpful if you have to unply it cause it sounds like a weeping banshee. Hotel door is locked after 11pm, a long with a security guard in lobby (red flag for after hours). There are NOT one but TWO bars on site. Sooo there is loud music until 3am, then you are entertained by very loud conversations until about 4am, which at that point ( thankfully) it was time to leave for the the airport.

Just off of Bourbon Street and only a couple blocks from Canal, Hotel Mazarin was a great choice to stay in New Orleans... especially during Mardi Gras!

This place was in a very convenient location for everything in New Orleans. We could easily walk to most things we wanted to see. The desk clerk was very helpful when there was a miscommunication about our room type.

Great location within the French Quarter! Easy walking to Bourbon and Royal Street bars, restaurants, shops, etc. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations, tips and taxis. Would definitely stay there again!
