Great hotel in the French QuarterPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: We had a great view of the Mississippi River.
Cons: The air conditioning was hard to regulate due to direct air flow over the bed.
Location: Many excellent restaurants and music venues nearby.
We've stayed at Hotel Monteleone twice and have always had a great experience. The Carousal Bar is historical landmark and they have great Jazz featured there. They have recently remodeled their rooms. We definitely would return to the Hotel Monteleone.

Historic Hotel Close to the Action; Not in it!Posted Jun 30, 2014
We enjoyed the proximity to French Quarter attractions and city attractions. The festive atmosphere was at the door of the hotel but we could escape it easily in our room. The room was well preserved and updated but it was small and the king sized bed was too soft for my liking. All in all, this was a very pleasant place to stay and we'd return in a heartbeat!

Highly recommend Hotel MonteleonePosted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Very clean, updated room, attentive staff.
Cons: Refrigerator in rooms
Location: Location is great; right in the French Quarter. I highly recommend taking walking tours throughout the city.
Our RIVER-view corner room on the 11th was comfortable and large. We had one next door noisy guest who brought Mardi Gras noise to their room. Also the upstairs heavy giant guest who would stomp heavily while walking. We were surprised we could hear these two different guests, as the hotel has thick walls. Fortunately both guests checked out the next day and it was quiet for the duration of our 4 day stay. The amenities offered were plush and luxurious, although we would have liked a refrigerator in the room. Raoul, the closet/storage staff downstairs, was very helpful to us. The two concierges were extremely helpful with tours and quickly provided us with umbrellas for the rain and heat. We ate breakfast at the restaurant every day and each meal was delicious!

Classic New Orleans Hotel in a Perfect LocationPosted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The Monteleone is classic but fun. It has comfortable rooms, great service, an amazing location, a rooftop pool, and a fantastic bar downstairs.
Cons: We could hear noise from the street at night, but with the AC on the sound was muffled. It's NOLA- it's going to be loud!
Location: The Monteleone is perfectly located to walk around the French Quarter, grab beignets, see some jazz, and visit the area's amazing cocktail bars!
This hotel was a dream to stay at. From the moment we stepped into the gorgeous lobby we knew we were in for a treat. All the staff members we encountered throughout our stay were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. Our room was very comfortable and a welcome respite from the noise and energy of the French Quarter below! And speaking of the French Quarter, this hotel is in such a convenient location- right in the midst of all the restaurants and entertainment the neighborhood has to offer, a very short walk to the trolleys on Canal Street that take you to the Garden District, and a slightly longer, but pleasant walk away from the fantastic restaurants in the Warehouse District. We couldn't have been happier staying here. We also had plans to visit more bars in the area but ended up going to the Carrousel Bar downstairs multiple times! Tip: get the Vieux Carré cocktail- it's excellent.

Great Hotel for New Orleans French QuarterPosted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Close to restaurants and entertainment
Cons: New Mattress on beds.
Location: Food, Shops, Bars, tourist attractions.
Hotel is right near all the action of the French Quarter. Lobby and Bar is great, room was clean, but a little small, (but I would assume its standard for the area)
