Beautiful and quaint.

Pros: Charm of the hotel and Carousel Lounge. Great jazz on Saturday night.
Cons: Not enough people to check in guests. The staff cleaning rooms were not consistent (one day forgot pillow cases. Another day no shower mat).
Location: Excellent location to great restaurants, art galleries & shops. One block from Bourbon St with music to fit all tastes.
The hotel including the lobby, standard room, restaurant & bar are spotless clean & beautifully decorated. Definitely visit the Carousel Lounge with the revolving bar off the main lobby. It's a conversation piece.

Cons: We paid extra for a room with a view, it was of course the back of other buildings not very scenic. The widow itself was filthy and needed replacing.
A beautiful old world hotel in the French quarter, lots of things to see.

The best!

We couldn't be happier with our choice of hotels. Staff helpful, friendly, courteous, understanding. Room beautiful and clean with appropriate decor. Services complete and easy to access. Criollo the most wonderful restaurant with friendly servers, a terrific menu and talented chefs. We loved every minute at this hotel.

Beautiful, historic hotel

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: There is enough to do within the hotel, one never needs to leave the building and still experience New Orleans. Live jazz in the Carrousel is a plus.
Cons: The lounge/bar wait staff were not guest friendly. We had to seek service several times. We were often ignored. I got our own drinks from the bar.
The hotel is nestled in a surprisingly quiet piece of the French Quarter with easy access to whatever nightlife you desire. The staff and facilities reflects the quiet, easy-going nature of the Big Easy.

Gorgeous with no free benefits

Gorgeous hotel. Very fancy. Rooms were clean, pretty and refreshed daily but tiny. The lobby was beautiful and sparkly and the carousel bar was amazing but you couldnt get a seat unless you stood behind someone for a long time and stilole their seats when they got up and this was in November. The bar is not exclusively for hotel guests. Wifi was not free. The so called complimentary wine could only be gotten if you purchased an entre. Two for breakfast at their restaurant was $50. So you can imagine what that entre would cost. The other amentities were just as costly. The so called heated pool was barely room temp (but it was nov). To sum it up, its beautiful but nothing is cheap or free.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Close to all French Quarter activities, with most destinations in the quarter within walking distance.
Cons: Rooms can be a little on the small side for price paid.
Location: Jackson Square and French Market are just a few blocks away and Bourbon street is one block from the hotel.
We visit New Orleans frequently and love to stay here...classic french decor.
