Very well located.

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: It is close to everything in the French Quarter, restaurants, museums, attractions, no need to use the car at all.
Cons: For me the valet parking rate is non-sense and too expensive.
TV in room did not work, they changed us room. The new room was near a central air conditioning device and made noise all day/night long. Personnel at front desk and bar very warm and service oriented.

Second stay at Hotel Provincial

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Location is great!
Cons: Breakfast was OK - at least is was included, but could be a little better. Coffee was great!
This is our second stay in NOLA and the second at Hotel Provincial. I wouldn't even try another spot. Perfect location. Great staff, especially David, the "bell hop" is great and been there 23 years!! He took care of our bags and transportation to the airport.

My sister was afraid to climb the stairs so we were upgraded to a suite by the beautiful courtyard at no charge! The manager also picked up some pastries for her... The porter and manager were so gracious. The desk clerk was efficient and pleasant. We were delighted with the location and history of the hotel. I would highly recommend and will come back! Thank You Provential staff for making our stay so comfortable... Margaret Roberts

Really nice hotel with super staff

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Israel, the valet, Mike, the night front desk, and Kenny, the day front desk, were sooo helpful, patient, friendly, and welcoming. Every request was attended to promptly and with a great attitude. Directions and information were given in detail and with such friendliness. The rooms were nice - obviously an older building but modern amenities that kept the spirit of the place. The hotel is as described on the website. Super clean. Beautiful and peaceful patio area and the pool is gorgeous. Continental breakfast good. I stayed in rooms 107 and 203. Super location because it's only a few blocks from the craziness of Bourbon Street, so the hotel was quiet but it took only about five mins to walk there, and less to the Market. Close to Cafe du Monde and Natchez river boat tour. I'd definitely stay again, and be sure to walk along on one of the haunted house and hotel tours. No apparent paranormal activity in our rooms, though. :)

Great home base in the French Quarter

Posted Nov 25, 2014
The hotel staff were wonderfully friendly, gracious and accommodating. The room was clean although relatively small, and exceptionally quiet. There are actually five buildings in the hotel and ours had been a military hospital in the Civil War. Guess they made walls extra thick back then, because Bourbon Street was two blocks away yet we heard nothing. A comfy bed is very important to me and I was not disappointed.

Best hotel staff in New Orleans

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Location, Condition, Cleanliness, Staff, Parking, general atmosphere
Cons: It was unseasonably cold during our stay and despite turning up the thermostat to 72 degrees, the room never got warmer than 65. - not a huge deal.
Location: Entrance is on Charters near Urselines in French Quarter. Nearby: French Market shopping, Café Du Monde beignets,Jackson Square, shops, restaurants...
Boooked a short stay from Nov 14 -Nov 18, 2014. I live in Hamburg, NY (Buffalo) and that area of New York state got hit with the worst snow storm EVER!. Had to extend my stay for an additional 3 days. All of the staff at the Provincial are professional, personable, considerate, and accommodating. I've stayed in many different lodgings in New Orleans and I've found a new favorite in the Hotel Provincial. They were renovating during our stay so I didn't complain that our heat was faulty and it took SEVERAL minutes for the bathroom water to get hot - but not so serious that I needed to point it out during our stay. Our room and the overall atmosphere of this hotel was incredibly clean and otherwise well maintained. We took advantage of the continental breakfast each morning. Parking in the French Quarter is extremely difficult, so I appreciated that the valet parking was within the courtyards of this lodging. the valets were wonderful!! We never had to wait for our vehicles longer than 5 minutes (if even that long), and the hotel was sold out when we checked in. Away from the craziness of Bourbon Street, but close enough to everything in the French Quarter, the Marigny, Treme, and even the CBD. The Provincial Hotel will be my first choice for my next visit to New Orleans!
