Excellent hotel 1 block from Bourbon Street

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness and (a mostly) wonderful service culture.
Cons: The staff in the dining area needs to be completely replaced and the efficiency of that operation re-tooled. Thirty minutes to cook eggs when not busy
Location: One block from Bourbon Street - enough said!
Hotel was excellent in terms of location, accommodations and comfort. Right off Bourbon Street but quiet and comforting. With the exception of the staff in the dining area, all other staff was beyond friendly, cheerful and attentive. Every time you walked by a staff member, they would smile, say hello and tell you to have a great time. The staff and service in the dining area is apparently from another culture. They seemed annoyed to have to take care of you, they were very unhelpful and the food took forever to be served to you. On our final day, it took more than a half hour to get our breakfast at a time when the tables were less than half full. One other gentleman before us left in disgust after waiting so long. It's a same that the staff in the dining area detracts from an otherwise terrific hotel and service environment. I would recommend staying here, but skip the dining area.

Great location and Huge rooms

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Big rooms and convenient location
The hotel is located very close to Bourbon St but at the end, so you don't get too much noise if you're trying to sleep. The rooms are huge also, we had two queen beds!

Very nice. We stayed in the king bourbon balcony suite. The room was huge with double everything including balconies. The balconies face bourbon so that was very awesome as well.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: The draft coming from balcony door in room 427.
Location: Many restaurants and near Canal for parades.
Great location in the French Quarter, near Bourbon with lots of restaurants and attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the Powdered Sugar cafe was convenient send made great hot coco. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful! We would to this facility.

Clean, friendly hotel in heart of French Quarter.

Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean room. Our room overlooked the pool, but it was a little too cool for use. The gym was nice.
Cons: Heat the pool or add a hot tub?
Location: Walk around the French Quarter in the morning. Visit WWII museum, find free US Park Service concerts, ride on steamboat
Visited New Orleans for 4 nights and stayed at the Hyatt French Quarter. There is a nice coffee shop , CC's, on the corner of Royal & St. Philip, just a 15 minute walk from the Hyatt. We pre-purchased a 3 day Street-car pass and used it to get a general overview of the area and get to the WWII museum (fabulous!) and visit the Audubon Park. There are so many restaurants it's hard to choose. Also there is a grocery store, Rouse's, where you can get anything. On every corner you will find an entertainer or panhandler or both. The best jazz music we heard was a free concert at the Old Us Mint put on by the US Park Service! My overall impression of New Orleans is the people are generally friendly, the evening crowds get a bit sketchy, and the weather is great compared to 6 ft of snow!
