Veldig greit hotell. Ingen luksus, men stort, godt rom, god seng og puter. Sittegruppe og kjøleskap. Lyst og fint bad. Frokost ok. Veldig bra renhold. Nært til de fleste aktiviteter og severdigheter. Utrolig hjelpsom og behjelpelig betjening. Eneste jeg savnet var å kunne åpne et vindu på rommet mitt

Nice hotel, needs better customer service.Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Rooms are clean, spacious.
Cons: Management needs to update their records to reflect what rooms have sofa beds, and train their employees on how to speak with guests.
Location: 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxt ride to the French Quarter
I booked my hotel a few days before my stay (March 27, 2015) and requested a room with 2 queens and a sofa bed. When I checked in, the manager Jasmonique was very pleasant. She verified the room we requested and sent us on our way. The room was fine and we settled in for the day. Headed to the French Quarter which was a cheap taxi ride away for the 5 of us. When we returned to our room, we were shocked to learn we did not have a sofa bed after all-just a sofa. I called downstairs and spoke with the ABSOLUTE RUDEST HOTEL REPRESENTATIVE EVER! His name was Vantrell. He told me that since I booked with a third party, my requests for specific beds did not have to be honored. Which I understand, however when we checked in, we were told the room had the beds we requested. Vantrell proceeded to speak to me in an EXTREMELY disrespectful manner. He offered NO solution, no compromise. No apology, NOTHING. When I asked to speak with the manager, he sighed and said she was busy. I asked him to have her call me and he said fine, then hung up! Jasmonique called and apologized for the inconvenience. She said their computer system hadn't been updated to reflect which rooms had sofa beds. She offered to bring extra blankets and pillows for my son to sleep on. She gave us free drinks in the downstairs lobby and arranged for our transfer to our cruise ship. I must say she did everything she could to make up for giving us the wrong room.

Nice hotel close to cruise terminalPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location and breakfast included
Location: It is across the street from the convention centre and cruse terminal. It's a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter or a short cab ride.
This is a very comfortable hotel, close to the cruise terminal and not that far from Canal Street and the French Quarter. The area is quiet and feels safe. The hotel provides a very nice buffet breakfast which is included in the room rate. Mulate's restaurant is close, with a convenience/beer store and Starbucks close as well. We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend.

Nice hotel but poor servicePosted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfast, computers in lobby.
Cons: Service of staff. They put us in a room which had construction noise outside all night long. They forgot to give us our wake up call.
Location: Good location. Close to trolley, outlets, Harrah´s Casino, short walk to downtown, French Quarter, etc.
We made reservations months in advance for a 5 day stay and the first night we could not sleep because of noisy trucks, etc. outside our window. Upon complaining to the front desk person, we were told that construction was taking place all night outside our room. If they knew this, why did they give us this room for 5 nights? We were moved to another room which was much smaller and had a very tiny bathroom, however, was quieter. On our last night we asked for a wake up call at 6 AM so we could grab some breakfast they were suppose to serve at 6:30 and catch a cab to the airport. We saw the desk person write down our room number and wake up call time, however, we did not get a wake up call. Luckily my husband woke up at 6:15 and we rushed out, without breakfast, so we wouldn´t miss our flight. The hotel was nice enough and so was the breakfast, but the service of the staff was terrible and we will not risk a return visit.

Nice hotelPosted Apr 10, 2015
Spent 4 nights here and it was a good choice, within walking distance of the main attractions of NO. Room was comfortable, bed and bedding were excellent. Only issue was slight damp smell that lingered. Staff service/welcome was mixed, some good, some v poor. Not too keen on noisy atrium breakfast area and glad we had a high floor. Breakfast choice was excellent as usual at Hyatt Place. Note: Valet parking was presented as only option, and expensive at $33 a night adding significantly to costs. Hotel could have mentioned that there was a 24 hour secure, covered car park within 50 yards at just $20 a night - much more convenient. Hugely impressed by New Orleans.

Beware of Parking FeesPosted Apr 8, 2015
Location: Walking distance to attractions
Hotel was nice and centrally located. Only issue I had was not knowing ahead of time of parking fee. Be prepared to pay $35 per night to park.

As Long As You Don't Arrive Around Noon...Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Walk-in shower! Comfortable bed. Great breakfast offering. Best fitness center I've seen.
Cons: Traffic during the middle of the day (11a-1p) leading toward US-90 is atrocious; competing with cruise ship terminal traffic.
Location: Convention Center is immediately across the street. World War II museum is only a few blocks away. Lots of small restaurants/clubs/bars nearby.
First stay at this hotel, and as a whole it was a fantastic experience. Since it's at the far end of Convention Center (close to US-90 access) it's not difficult to get there or back on the road...as long as you're not trying to do it around noon (cruise ship traffic is bad news). We've stayed at several facilities in the Warehouse District and this one by far was the most comfortable, and the most quiet. We did have a service-related hiccup during the stay (housekeeping took our plastic laundry bag of funky running attire, double-bagged in a paper shopping bag), but the management/desk staff were quick to work and remedy the situation...our stuff was found and they promised to have a word with housekeeping. Really worth the cost. We'll consider using this hotel once again!

Hyat Place near Convention CenterPosted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Very convenient for cruise ship terminal. Not the busiest part of the city unless there is a convention or the cruise ships are embarking or docking.
Location: Mulates restaurant is very close. Very good cuisine. Riverwalk is close by but who wants to go to a mall in New Orleans. WW II Museum is pleasant walk
Older building but kept in good shape and very clean. Fairly good but simple breakfast. It is a ten minute walk from the French quarter but you can walk along the Mississippi River boardwalk and it is a very pleasant experience. We enjoyed it even after dark.

Excellent Hotel / Great StaffPosted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Great Staff
Cons: Food was 8 of 10 (I'm not asking for Caviar or anything more expensive), sometimes flavor can be improved without expending more money.
We traveled 4 adults and 1 child, this hotel had 2 queen beds and a sofa. Excellent for us, that way we could share the room. Cost was appropriate, cost included breakfast. This hotel is not in the middle of the "party zone", but we found this hotel very convenient.
