Great downtown location

Beautifully renovated hotel, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. At the discounted rate, I would stay again. The use of keys to access everything may be a safety plus, but it's a slight nuisance.

Weekend getaway

I had a wonderful time at the Hyatt. It is a beautiful hotel. You really don't have to leave the facility for anything. The views inside an out are breath taken. It's on my list to treat myself to another stay at this hotel again in the future.

Nice hotel but NO reduced or free parking :(

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: It had a very nice pool open in the mornings.
Cons: Parking was very priced and poor. They did not even have a reduced rate for guests.
Location: The street car is right outside which can take you to the french quarter. There is also of course the superdome within walking distance.
The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is very beautiful and has many positive features including glassed in elevators and a pool on the roof (with a number of sun canopies and comfortable seating). It is a very nice location as well with the streetcar right outside, no need to call and wait for a cab. It will take you right to the french quarter without any problems. However, there was a major draw back to saying here as compared to other hotels in the area. They did not give guests free parking (20 for overnight) nor did they have a reduced rate for guests for valet (44 just to park the car). The parking garage was not very secure and I would NOT recommend parking there! I parked for 2 hours to check in & move my things into the hotel and they charged nearly 10 just for that! (I feel ripped off) If you stay at this hotel, drop off your things and move your car to a nice, safe, free parking spot off of St. Charles where the nice homes are. Take the streetcar there back to the hotel area and don't spend your money on their unsecured parking.

Decent Stay at the Hyatt Regency

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: As mentioned, the hotel staff was pleasant to deal with, and the hotel was clean. The rooms were ample size.
Cons: It was a bit jarring to have to change hotels.
Location: It was not far from restaurants, other hotels, and the convention center. I often to these locations. If you are into walking, it was a nice walk.
Initially, they did not have a room for me so they provided car service to another hotel nearby, ALoft Hotel. The accommodation were ok, but there were no windows in my room. I was given the option to come back to the Hyatt Regency after the first night or stay at the ALoft Hotel. Unfortunately, the transactional exchange seemed to complicated to stay so I went to the Hyatt Regency. The accommodation were good, and the hotel staff provided consistent, good customer skills.

Good facilities and friendly staff but room servicing below average - took a long time for the room to be cleaned/bed made etc each day.

Definitely worse the price!

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Food, amenities
Cons: Larger bathrooms, with more bathroom amenities
Location: Location was good, not in a noisy area, but still close to everything
Great location and staff! Lots of amenities Food was good, and room was clean as well The hotel rooms were far from the entrance to the hotel, and the elevators were a bit confusing, but overall, a great place!
