The Hyatt Regency in New Orleans was one of best Hotel experiences I have had. Beautiful facility, well trained and professional staff. It was one of the busiest times, at Marti Gras, but the guest were still given attention to their every need. This is a jewel in the Hyatt hotel family.

Close to action, but away from noise.

Pros: Location and comfort.
Cons: Handling of large crowds at check in.
Location: Just a few blocks from Canal Street and next to the SuperDome. Also, only about a 20 minute drive to the airport.
The hotel iteslf has been remodeled and is very lovely. The only negative was the check in process. We had to wait around for staff to show up so that we could check in. However, the staff was great once we got past this hiccup.

Money Pit

The Hyatt uptown was a clean comfortable establishment. The elevators were difficult to use initially and you need to get to the 3rd floor before being able to get to the guest rooms higher up. In house purchases were over priced! I tried to buy 2 single sized 16 ounce bottles of OJ which were priced at $8.40. I put them back and walked a block to the grocery store and got 1/2 gallon for $3.15. Parking was expensive but it was every where. Staff was helpful and went out of their way to assist you.

Quiet rooms with courteous staff

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and quiet but rather small. It is close to French Quarter and all the attractions.
The room was very quiet with a comfortable bed and excellent air-conditioning. The Mardi Gras parades are just 3 blocks south. We had 2 problems with the rooms. One room was missing a shower curtain so they moved us to another but that was missing a remote. We didn't come stay in the room or watch TV but it seems the 20th floor is cannibalized for parts for other floors. The staff was really awesome. They were quick to respond to our needs and comp us for drinks and breakfast(which was really good). I would stay again especially if there was a Saints game since the Superdome is right next door. And the bar on the 3rd floor make great drinks and they are not that pricey.

Convenient to down town

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Great room. I think they were a little overwhelmed because of Mardi gras. I ordered a nice romantic bottle of wine to be delivered before my friend arrived, when we got in it was not there and we could not get it as the bar was closed. They comped it the next day. Breakfast is not good paid 21 bucks per person for the buffet and it was terrible, order room service the next day and it was pretty much the same. Overall nice hotel but I would eat breakfast elsewhere
