Pleasantly surprised

Posted Jul 21, 2014
From the minute we pulled up to park our car, the staff at this hotel was beyond professional. We enjoyed a beautiful room that was obviously recently renovated, tasty drinks at the lobby bar, a lovely breakfast in the room and even though it was crowded at check-out (most of the hotels in the city were sold out), the valet and bell hop were so accommodating and had us out in no time. We will definitely return.

Excellent services.

Pros: I liked the location, size and most importantly the staff!
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect.
Location: Location was great. Walking distance to most everything.
The hotel was located centrally and in walking distance to the French Quarter. More importantly the hotel staff were courteous and helpful all the time. The concierge (Andrew) was so helpful, knowledgeable and coordinated many of the activities scheduled each day. Across the street at the Marriott it was bedlam...too big and too many people. At the J.W. Marriott they made everyone feel like the only guest.

Nice hotel, good location.

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Clean, tidy and well maintained with friendly helpful staff. Chilled bottled water is given out freely, which is a nice gesture and much appreciated.
Cons: Swimming pool and surrounding area could be larger and better presented. Bathroom was very small, it was difficult to get inside and close the door.
Location: Great location to explore New Orleans from. Across the street from French Quarter, 15 mins walk to Superdome, 10 mins to river for shops & boats.
Lots to see and do in New Orleans. Hotel is a good base, centrally located for sights, river and shopping etc. Went to Essence music festival at Superdome and had an excellent time. French Quarter is lively, good food and lots to see and do. Did a city tour and went on a paddle steamer down the Mississippi river, lots of history, character and culture. Highly recommended and a great place to visit.

Nice hotel but some issues

Posted Jun 4, 2014
This is a great looking hotel. There were a few issues - the pool was not kept clean (I actually skimmed it myself because of the volume of floating bugs) and they charge $15. a day for wifi which I was not happy about (and did not use)... I would stay there again, but it would not be my first choice.

Nice Hotel, close to the festivities

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Cons: Need self parking. They only allowed valet parking for garage and it was expensive.
Location: location was perfect
The hotel was very nice and the staff was wonderful. The only thing I had an issue with was the parking. There wasn't, any self parking for the hotel. the parking garage was only for valet and it was expensive. i was told by one of the valet that i can go to another lot to park a mile and a half away, which didnt sound like an option to me. he also indicated that their garage was secure so my vehicle would be protected. However, but when they went to retrieve my friend's car the valet said it was at another garage. How secure is that? it doesnt make you feel secure when your car is somewhere else. The bathroom was small.

Amazing service

Amazing customer service from check out to check-in. The bell hops were my favorite they really treat you like royalty during your stay. They are also great people to ask about where to go in the city.

Nice hotel, service less than desirable

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: Great location, nice hotel and lobby lounge.
Cons: Service
Location: Walgreens and CVS nearby. Jackson Square in walking distance. Shoppes at Canal place. Great restaurants like SoBou.
The hotel was very nice and great location. Rooms very clean and a good size. Valet and bellman staff were excellent. However we had several service issues. Called for extra hangers, left hotel for 3 hrs, came back still no hangers. Had to call again and received timely this time. Next morning ordered coffee was told it would be 20 mins. 1 hour later still no coffee. Called back and was told they had no record of my order. Coffee came pretty quick after that. I received a call from manager who apologized. Next day in the 2nd room we had, toilet was broken and bathroom smelled horrible. Maintenance person was very helpful and handled our transfer to different rooms very quickly and provided us with $100 comp to lobby lounge. Hotel mangers sent up a note with a complimentary cup of coffee coupon. Also I went to the concierge and requested we have champagne glasses sent up to our room at 6pm. I made the request at around 5pm. We never received the glasses. Overall it's a nice hotel, but for what we paid a night. We had a less than desirable experience.

The perfect Hotel to see New Orleans

Posted May 14, 2014
The hotel was great and close to everything you would like to do. Rooms were large and comfortable and had every thing you need from free bottles of water every day to coffee & crackes, also lounge & restaurant in the hotel so no need to go out if the weather is bad. Will go back again!!!!!!
