Pleasant business hotel

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Add a bar
Location: Pleasant restaurants in walking distance
While the rooms access from the outside, the little hotel is quite clean and updated at every level. I would stay here again.

It is close to interstate and shopping areas.

Pros: It is close to interstate with shopping and restaurants in walking area.
The rooms were fair. Very small space for two full size beds, and not clean enough for small children. The breakfast was good. And the staff was very friendly. I would come again but never bring my children back.

Spring Break 2014

Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: The lobby has been completely made over and very nice. If only the rest of the hotel matched.
Cons: Updated bathrooms.
Location: New Orleans about 30 miles away. Several restaurants near by. Casinos and shopping within minimal driving distance.
Was hoping for a room in New Orleans but due to a convention everything was booked or overpriced. The price and pictures from this hotels website is what pulled me in. What I didn't realize until arrival is this facility is not 'indoors' meaning you walk to your door from the parking lot, of which I am not a fan. The room was clean and looked like the photo, but it was kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. The hotel is older, the room was small, and the bathroom tile was old and cracked. Other occupants felt it necessary to congregate in the courtyard area (which our room faced) or at the corner to discuss plans for breakfast, the day, or whatever inspite of the 'do not disturb' sign. Rolling suitcases on a concrete sidewalk are unpleasant sounds at 6:30am when I am on vacation. If you are strictly an economy traveler, then this hotel is not completely unfortunate. At checkout the desk staff was very apologetic of the behavior of some current guests but didn't offer any accommodations or discounts.

Pros: hotel staff at front counter were real pleasant
Cons: reduce rate, didnt see value
room was nice clean and comfortable. main issue was bathroom, tub drain was clogged and tub fills to mid calf. I no exhau am 6foot three shower head came to my chest making it extremely difficult to wash hair. limited towels able to dry one leg and no exhaust fan so it felt like a sauna

Nice place

Posted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Clean, great location
Cons: Needs some up keep around pool area. Kind of dirty, but we did not use this area.
Location: Good location, by the interstate.
Room was very neat and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. There was a bus load of kids in the breakfast room when we were there, but there was plenty of food and the staff was busy keeping everything up for all guests. Not many choices on the breakfast bar though.

Noisy accommodation

Posted Jan 14, 2014
Cons: Double-paned windows, a tighter fitting door and insulation in the outer wall might help cut down a little on (but not eliminate) the noise.
The road noise from the nearby Interstate was bad enough, but the garbage truck emptying the dumpster at a next-door restaurant scared the daylights out of me . . . I sincerely believed it was about to drive right through the window into my room, it was so loud. The facility is old, and although they've attempted to give it a facelift, its age is evident. There were none of the standard amenities that I have come to expect from a LaQuinta, such as a microwave or small refrigerator. The room was drafty around the door. The room was clean, and the desk staff was very friendly.
