We love the Lamothe house and prefer to stay every time we visit New Orleans! It’s comfortable, quiet, safe, and the location is convenient to our favorite places to visit while in town. This time our visit from the spirits were plentiful. NEVER felt malevolent. Everything from the staff to the spirit presences were friendly. Definitely helped rank this 4th visit to Nola right at the top! The price hike during certain nights is double that of others so that would be our only complaint and common for most hotels we look at. Waiving that price hike or offering a discount for return visitors would be nice. We will be back and already looking forward to our stay next fall or spring!

We weren’t able to make the reservation, however we did drive by later. People lined up on the sidewalks next door to facility (drunk, drugs, homeless) Couldn’t walk on sidewalks to the facility. No marked check in or curbside temporary parking for check in or luggage drop off. Building looked awful, filthy and had broken and falling off hinges shutters. Zero curb appeal. Did not and will stay or ever recommend this establishment. Wish we could have gotten our money back. What a waste. Such a huge disappointment.

We loved staying here and will stay again in the future. Close enough to The action but quieter. Amazing old mansion - we stayed in the suites facing the street and loved it. The rooms are HUGE! High ceilings and great comfortable beds. You do need to hike up two long banks of stairs - think old mansion so no elevator. We are in good shape now! The area had some sketchy parts but we’ve been to New Orleans over a dozen times so we were aware.

Very pleased with the space overall. Great location for visiting the French Quarter and surrounding areas. Very walkable to Bourbon area but far enough to separate from it when you need quiet. The couch in our room needs to be thrown out or cleaned thoroughly, but least of our concerns. Little pool and overall setup of the property were great.

Great location close to Frenchmen street but the property was really run down. The sink in our room wouldn’t drain and was basically broken and the bathroom and shower were really in poor shape. We asked for the sink to be fixed three times and it never was. I’m sure they knew it was broken when we checked in. They moved us from a room with two double beds to a room with a King bed (not ideal for our trip). It was tiny and clean but lots of things were broken. Drawers that wouldn’t open or wouldn’t close. No phone, or coffee pot. This property could be really cool and funky but it needs some TLC. There are lots of other properties we’ve stayed at nearby that are priced similarly that were much more comfortable. We will not be back.

We had lots of privacy in our unit. We were very close to Frenchmen which we loved! It's not quiet at night if you're looking for that, but it's a great location to be near the nightlife. We didnt get our room serviced at all, despite asking the front desk directly. We only stayed a few days, but any more and i would have liked some fresh towels. The staff was friendly, though!

Pool and hot tub were not available, door in bathroom didnt close, and everytime someone came into the courtyard, the door would slam shut and they would stand out in front of your door talking. As it is an old facility, they might as well been standing inside our room talking. Can tell they are working on the facility, but the courtyard needs a landscaper's magic touch.

So this hotel was at a wonderful location, next to the famous Frenchman street and crossing a block to the French quarter. But, we were next to construction and it woke us up early on the weekdays. There were flying singles and nails on the ground, and we told the management but not much was done. Our hotel room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Room def needed some TLC and the shower wasn’t very clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but not sure if we’d stay again. 8/10.

The cosmetic fixings for the room need to be taken care of. There was no where to sit in the hotel courtyard. Pool was messed up. I get old time theme but it should look hygienic

We are in the process of a total renovation, that’s why the pool is drained. The pool area does have tables and chairs around it that anyone can use. Hopefully you’ll try us again once our remodel is completed.

The state of the property is one of faded glory; it is a nice historical property but it is in a rather run down, decaying state; this is due to the overall condition of the property but also to the attitude of the staff; the staff [including the manager] has a rather lackadaisical, 'whatever' attitude; they seem to regard customers as a nuisance. Although we were excited to stay in a historical place, the state of the property and the attitude of the staff did not make this a pleasant stay! Next time we will be more careful to see through the veneer of a nice appearance that hotels put up online. Look for other options.

Great location within one minute walk to Frenchman street and minutes to French Quarter. The hotel is old and musty but the beds are comfortable and the staff is cool. I’d recommend if it was not musty.

It was okay but I wouldn’t stay there again. Location was convenient and given the age of the building I could understand some issues. What I could not fathom was the overall lack of professionalism and service skills with most of the staff - points to a larger issue with management/pride of ownership in my opinion and the experience we had there. A shame because I wanted to love it but at least it served as a place to rest at night.

Beautiful property
The hotel is historic and the courtyard was beautiful. The location was central but quiet and the employees were nice and helpful. My only concern was the room. It was very small and in need of some minor maintenance. All in all, I would stay here again.

Frenchmen Street Gem
We stayed for a week at Lamothe for Halloween festivities, 2023. The checkin process was effortless, despite some logistics challenges with the ground floor salon hardwoods being refinished. The grounds are lovely, with a beautiful courtyard, and small pool and hot tub between the main building and the rear building where our room was. We took advantage of the hot tub and pool a few times, and the water was always clean and clear. The king-bed room where we stayed was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, a great AC and heat unit (we used both), and room for our luggage. It was quiet and dark and we had no issues with noise from either the street or the hotel. The room only had external windows on the door which were covered with blackout curtains. This might make some people feel claustrophobic but to us it felt cozy. To our delight, we were steps away from our favorite club on Frenchmen Street and within a half mile of drugstores, restaurants, and the craziness of Bourbon Street. Suggestions for room improvement would be to include a mini-fridge and a desk. Suggestions for hotel improvement might include offering a king bed room with a kitchenette. Otherwise, we loved the property and will seriously consider it for future visits due to amenities and location.

A lovely property with an enclosed courtyard with a jacuzzi, situated on Esplanade. Easily walkable to Decatur and Bourbon Street in a quiet street. This is the second time we have been here, and the staff are wonderful.
