Great hotel and lovation

Everything was wonderful. Few blocks from French Quarter. Friendly staff, clean room. Cafe Adelaide in the lobby which is a plus because it is one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA. Though there are cheaper places to stay, it is worth it!

If it's NOLA, who cares?

Location: Too far to walk to the great eateries, and the heart of the French Quarter.
The hotel was very pleasant. The staff was solicitous and efficient. A little to far away for walking into the heart of the French Quarter if you're a senior. The room was clean, but, one day, we had to ask for housekeeping to come and clean the room. The room itself was comfortable for 3 - king bed with a roll out bed in the sofa. I would stay there again, but would try to choose something closer to the heart of the French Quarter.

The outside and hotel lobby is beautiful and in very good condition. We had happy hour in the bar/lobby area the service and food were excellent. The hotel room was nice but I did expect more. The things that I did not like was the chairs and carpet were old and needed replacing. The room accommendations did not fit the hotel lobby. I did not prefer pets were allowed in the hotel. It was a nice experience by I will would not stay there again until the rooms have been renovated. I might stop in for happy hour.

Well located. Union hotel

Posted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: Longer stay
Staff was very accommodating. Ross, who greeted us and took care of our luggage, was our first face-to-face. He was thoroughly engaging and helpful. A native of NOLA, he was very enthusiastic about our plans to experience Mardi Gras lite. After a long (wonderful) night at the parade, we came back to the hotel for much needed libations. Our waitress (whose name eludes me, alcohol was involved) was lovely--and not just because she was blonde and pretty. She was not only efficient, she also shared her passion for Mardi Gras. It was great to continue the parade high. The hotel was perfectly located, the room very comfortable and the staff professional and personable. My husband's union, the IAM, has used this hotel for conventions in the past. We'll be back!

Not 4.5 star quality

Posted Feb 22, 2014
Hotel staff was friendly but overall, this hotel definitely wasnt 4.5 star quality. There was a used durex condom wrapper (that i did not use) under my bed the entired 4 nights I stayed there. Made me wonder how clean house keeping was actually keeping things. Also house keeping would remove our old towels and wash clothes and only replace one or the other...we need both!

Nothing Great

Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Location. Bathroom amenities
Cons: updating the hotel rooms, especially the bathrooms
Location: Harrahs, shopping mall, restaurants, St. Charles streetcar that goes to Tulane
I stayed at Loews NoLa for 2 nights while visiting with my son who attends Tulane. The room does not really look as it does in the pictures. I have been searching for a modern, clean, hotel and unfortunately this was not it. The rooms are worn out. My room wasn't especially dirty but I didn't want to walk around without socks. Same with the bathroom. It was nice that there was a heated pool but, it was too cold for my taste and the water was not crystal clear. It just didn't feel really clean. As far as parking, you can valet at the hotel but, it's $39 (+tax!) and theres a lot next door but, it's even more $$ They advertise as kid friendly with a welcome pack and amenities but I wasn't offered one kid friendly option. The staff, however, was pleasant and helpful. Location is good if you want to be near Harrahs and the French Quarter but not in it.
