Walking distancePosted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The grounds were pretty and the staff was polite and very helpful.
Cons: Maybe putting some more furniture in the rooms...it would have been nice to have a bedside table on both sides of the bed.
The location of the hotel was in walking distance to everywhere in the French Quarter and that was awesome. However, the room was pretty sparse as far as furniture goes and the noise level was really bad. There must not be any insulation in any of the walls in the back building we stayed in because we could hear every conversation outside on the street....at 3:00 in the morning. On the good side, the staff was very helpful with reccomendations for dining and very eager to help if we had questions.

Doesn't feel like your average hotel. As soon as you drive up it's just beautiful. The staff is welcoming. The room was very spacious. Walking distance to everything. I'll definelty be staying at Melrose Mansion on my next visit.

Decent location crappy hotelPosted Mar 9, 2015
The room wass big which was nice, the water pressure in shower was terrible, the sink kept leaking which drove me crazy, the hotel was loud all the doors sucked they have actual keys instead of key cards (who wants to worry about keys when on vacation) the staff was horrible they were very cheap when it came to towels. Breakfast was pathetic. Gym was awful. Was lied too twice prior to arrival that they had a treadmill which they do not. Overall pretty bad hotel stay elsewhere.

Historic boutique style hotelPosted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Unique, estate property, boutique style hotel. Outstanding Staff.
Cons: Room furnishings that are showing some wear could use updates.
Location: Located on Esplanade Street near Jazz Bars, several blocks from Royal Street Shops and Bourbon Street bars
Beautiful historic estate property converted to a boutique hotel. Staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful and very accommodating. They were responsive to all requests, called for cabs, assisted with dinning choices and special dietary needs. Rooms were spacious, high ceilings, modern style furnishings. Fitness center was a nice surprise. Comfortable bed in room. My only criticism is upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a stain on the carpet and a lamp shade that had a tear in it. The room however, was kept clean otherwise. This is a unique property and the staff could not have been more helpful. The decor is nice, minimal in style, but some room furnishings showing wear may need a few updates.

We did experience some plumbing issues (which they were unable to repair quickly) so we were offered a new room. Would recommend travellers stay in the house as you get the experience of staying in an old mansion. Rooms were clean and the staff was amazing!

Stylish but ultimately inconvenient, few amenities, short of basics like towels, coat hangers, glasses, and sub-standard continental breakasts. But architecture is fun.

Beautiful secluded placePosted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: Clean, fresh, nice sized rooms with tall ceilings.
Cons: The breakfast is very simple with cereals and yogurt. I think that's fine but not sure if others expected hot food.
Location: Right on the edge of the French Quarter so within walking distance to it all!
A beautiful B&B. Clean and refreshing surroundings, right on the edge of the French Quarter. The staff was friendly and very very helpful. We enjoyed out time at the hotel!

Beautiful propertyPosted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Quiet, clean and comfortable. The location offers the best of everything for a true New Orleans experience.
Cons: Everything was great.
Location: Bars - Port of Call, Buffa's. Stop in and have a drink, the locals are very friendly and informative about their city.
Just stayed two nights, after first night, wished we had booked for a third. This was our sixth trip to New Orleans, and we have always stayed in the French Quarter or Business District. This was a totally different, and much better experience. At this hotel, you get a more intimate, neighborhood experience of New Orleans - very romantic hotel for couples. The hotel borders the French Quarter, so you can walk there, yet escape it as well. Great staff, very comfortable room, light morning breakfasted offered. This is a very clean and quiet hotel, too cold to use the pool, but the courtyard with pool looked very welcoming - nice place to read or have a drink to relax. Great neighborhood bars, eateries and a convenience store all within short walking distance. We rented a car for this trip but really didn't need to. Would definitely stay here again, our new favorite New Orleans Hotel.

Pros: Location is great, beautiful exterior.
Cons: Room lacks enough furniture. Breamfast is meager, needs fruit, toaster and bagles or bread.
Location: Location is great, in walking distance to all places in the french quarter.
No place to put clothes in drawers, missing table, couch. Plenty of room but not fully furnished.
