“New Orleans experience -”
This Bed and Breakfast was the true New Orleans experience. It had the French Quarter look and a beautiful garden for Breakfast. It was damaged in the Hurricane but has recovered nicely. The service could not have been any better. Nice, helpful and friendly staff. Met a lot of nice people there. Would recommend to other people for the atmosphere and helpful staff.
“The Neat Pink Building”
We found the New Orleans Guest House online and thought we'd give it a try as we were looking at staying someone near the French Quarter for five nights. Soon after arriving, we were happy to see that this big bright pink building is right on the edge of the French Quarter tourist district and a very short walk to see all the bars, restaurants, and music in the area. The place itself is a big old house with a large back courtyard (with communal microwave and refrigerator) and lots of overgrown gardens, giving it a neat tropical feel. Our room was a fine size with cable TV and a nice high ceiling. Unfortunately, it can get a bit noisy hearing guests move about, but we figured that's what you get with staying at a guest house. The positive side of staying at a guest house is that you typically get treated well by your hosts, like we were here. The hosts were always there to help with questions about New Orleans or recommendations for food or music venues, and each morning served up a nice light breakfast of croissants and fruit, along with coffee and juice. We were so happy with this place that we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if we get the chance to visit again, and would happily pass up a big expensive hotel for a more home-style stay at this guest house.
“Perfect Location, Perfect Price, Wonderful Service”
We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel has so much charactor and is only a few minutes walk to the French Quarter. The staff was extremely helpful and the perfect display of southern hospitality. We would no doubt stay there again.
“Yes, but.”
The owner needs to give the rooms some attention to bring them up to par. the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work, and when I mentioned it, he answered that 'people leave them running and they burn out'. sounds like a cost of doing business to me. In a small room, with no window in the bathroom, an exhaust fan is 'muy importante!'
“Best place EVER!”
Oh man, if i could live here i would. I've stayed at cheap airport hotels, 5 star Hollywood hotels and a lot of places in between, and i can say that this was the absolute BEST accommodation i have stayed at on any vacation, period. The staff are so friendly, the building is absolutely gorgeous, and the character of the place is incredible. Why stay at a boring hotel that looks the same as it would in any other city when you can stay in an old building with lots of New Orleans character? The location is perfect- just cross the street and you're in the French Quarter! It's also close to the quieter side of the FQ with a lot of restaurants locals go to. It's also a quick walk to Cemetery No.1 if you want to do some sight seeing! The continental breakfast was suuuuper delish too! Fruit, a fresh croissant and all the juice and coffee you can drink! I was really glad it was a lighter breakfast because of all the greasy food my bf and me would inevitably eat later in the day! On the second day of our visit, my bf and me said 'the only thing this place is missing is a cat!' .... And a few hours later we met the two kitties who live there! Stella and Stanley are their names! Stanley was a little shy, but Stella was pretty friendly! It was so nice having them around!! So to sum it up, if i'm ever filthy rich, i'm just going to become a permanent resident of this B&B. I miss it so much already!
“Great B & B, convenient to French Quarter”
Friendl;y, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast (coffee, choice of juice, delicious fresh fruit plate, crossiant), beautiful flowered patio, comfortable room, within walking distance of French Quarter.
“Secret little Gem”
New Orleans Guest House is off the beaten track, but within walking distance of Bourbon Street and the high end shopping of Canal Street. It's not far to the waterfront either. It's a charming small hotel, and the gentlemen who own it are super friendly. They provide a nice Victorian atmosphere, and the courtyard where breakfast is served is delightful.
“Not impressed”
The B&B was older (which we knew) but the room left a lot to be desired. the carpet was stained and dirty, the room itself was a lot smaller than expected and the bathtub didn't work but the location almost made up for it. It is very convenient to Bourbon Street. Good light breakfast and hospitable innkeepers.
“Best Deal in the French Quarter!”
Amazing Hotel, very simple and confortable. The owners are very kind, helping with advises for the city! We'll go back in this hotel without hesitation next time! Probably the best deal in the quarter, the price is terrific and the breakfast a great moment! Thank you!!!
“Cozy little hotel”
Very nice little hotel. Away from the noise of the French Quarter but just across the street and a short walk to the fun. The free parking was a real bonus. As in all of New Orleans the neighborhood was a bit sketchy but there's not much you can do about that. Room was small but the bed was comfortable. I could have used a coffee pot in the room but they did have coffee in the morning in the very nice courtyard. Will stay again.
