“Would Gladly Return”
If we did have a problem, all that was needed was a call to speak to a manager. The problems we had were with the Rib Room Restaurant--it seems that there is a bit of a morale problem among employees. This is probably a management problem and not the individual employees. If you need to, speak with a manager and you will get action. Other than that, what a fabulous hotel and the overall service is excellent.
“OMNI Hotel New Orleans”
The location was perfect. Valet parking is expensive, but if only planning to stay in the french quarter area - then would recommend getting a shuttle from the airport to hotel.
“Nice hotel, but cramped.”
My wife and I travel to New Orleans several times/year to attend Saints games, and we usually book hotels based on location and rate. This past weekend, the Royal Orleans was available at a very reasonable rate, so we booked it. The location can't be beat, and the hotel parking is on-site (unlike a lot of N.O. hotels where they park your car seven blocks away and make you wait to get it back.) The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, but the room was too small. Storage/drawer space was very limited and the furniture filled up the room completely. Seemed much better suited for Japanese or European customers. We enjoyed our trip, but would have preferred more space.
“Perfect location”
Perfect location, needed a little bit of jazz atmosphere and better lounging and nighttime actvities
“Perfect location”
Perfect location for exploring the French Quarter etc as it was close enough but away from the noise etc of Bourbon street. Room size a bit small but adequate for your visit as you are hardly in it ! Parking fees extravagant.
“Noisey”
We were kept awake until 3am with noise from the next door room. Clearly the level of sound insulation is well below what you would normally expect in even a cheap hotel. This is an old hotel that is well past an upgrade. I think I gave a newer TV to Goodwill. The bathroom was so small I couldnt be in it at the same time as my wife. If it wasnt for the location it would be classed as a dump
“lovely”
This is a fine local hotel, with the dependability of a chain (Omni), but with a long and elegant history. The staff were first rate, and the location is ideal -- one block from the hurley burley of Bourbon Street, but quietly situated itself, and down the street from Jackson Square. Pricey, and not therefore a typical family hotel; but if you want an elegant gracious New Orleans experience, the Royal Orleans is IT. I have been staying here every year for years, and it never disappoints me. My daughter and I get hugged by the doorman when we arrive. Turtle soup through room service is outstanding. Pool on the roof is a nice feature as well.
“great location, very comfortable hotel”
perfect location, nice rooms, great health club on the roof with a gorgeous view of the city--friendly staff
“Best Location”
This well kept, historic hotel is located on a quiet street in the middle of the French Quarter. An excellent location. The staff was cheerful, friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit small, but well appointed, clean and quiet. We will definitely return.
“Great hotel.”
All was good. Enroll in their guest program as it provides many benefits including coffee delivery.
