Quiet get away in the Garden DistrictPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: location, comfort, ease of parking
Cons: full size ironing boards in room
Location: Lots of great restaurants nearby. We enjoyed happy hour at the Blind Pelican and like Café Zea. Delmonico's is also nearby.
Overall we were delighted. We normally stay in the Quarter but knew from previous experience that the Quarter is a madhouse Thanksgiving weekend. This is adult only and very conveniently located just off of St. Charles, very close to the streetcar line. Parking is free (rare to find in the quarter), convenient to the hotel and it was always available. There was plenty of street parking as well for my son who often rendezvoused with us. The room was very clean and comfortable. This is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. Two small negatives - they only had a small mini ironing board in the room. Fortunately I only had to use it once. The second is when we checked in our experience with the desk clerk was off-putting. She was not the slightest bit friendly. We wondered at first what we had gotten into. But the room was great and our contact with other employees was fine. The lady running the breakfast room was unusually kind and helpful. Maybe the first clerk was just having a bad day but it was definitely odd. However, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.

Pictures don't tell the whole StoryPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: The staff at the desk was great. They were friendly and booked our tours for us. Very clean.
Cons: They could paint the outside doors and inside room doors to make it appealing. It is what it is. A place to rest up
Location: It is close to St Charles St and the trolley line. You can get anywhere with a $3 daily pass. The whole city is available very conveniently.
This hotel is for sleeping only. You register at one building which has a small hotel. Out hotel was around the next corner. I believe there are 3 total buildings. These are 2 story buildings with a few rooms on each floor. You walk to the 2nd floor. It is very old. We were dropped off in front of our building and then figured out we needed to go back around the corner to register. They have a continental breakfast, but no other amenities. The rooms are very small. Don't bring any extra people for the room. It holds two and no more. Although I would recommend the hotel, I think at the $150 a night we paid it is a bit overpriced.

Nice and QuaintPosted Oct 2, 2013
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was a bit small, but it was clean and comfortable. Every morning Trish was in the breakfast room cooking waffles; her hospitality made it worth the stay.

Free parking!Posted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
After reading several good reviews for this hotel we were very disappointed with what we got for what we paid. Yes the free parking was good and the contemporary room was clean butthe rest of the hotel lacked a lot of conveniences you'd expect from even a budget hotel! An example of this was the 'free' breakfast - seating in a passageway with only a few items to choose from. Wouldn't bother with this hotel if you want value for money, if you want that stick to a Ramada or Baymont Inn!

Pleasant NoLa lower garden district stayPosted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Usually when we visit NoLa, we stay in the upper garden district. After reading the reviews of the Prytania Oaks hotel, we decided to give it a try. The hotel has adequate parking. It is also one block away from the St. Charles streetcar line. Our room was comfortable, but on the small side. Our only complaint is that we only had one desk chair. It would have been nice to have another chair for two guests. Our room was very clean. Housekeeping service was adequate except for our last day. We were still in our room at 9:00 am when housekeeping came by to service our room. We asked them to come back in about an hour. At 2:00 pm we returned and our room had not been serviced. About 15 minutes later, housekeeping came by to make up our room. We asked her to come back after 3:00 pm. She said she was off at 3:00 pm and could not make up our room.

Conveniently locatedPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Clean, courteous staff, relatively quiet, and very conveniently located. Above all, free parking and wifi in addition to fridge & microwave.
Cons: The bed was a little hard and too much light flooded the room through the cracks around the door.
We enjoyed our two-day/night stay here and we've stayed a number of places in NOLA. This one's the best one we've stayed at in the Garden District.

Quaint boutique hotel with New Orleans charmPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Had charming atmosphere. The free St Charles Fitness Center was a nice perk.
Cons: Front desk staff not the friendliest. Cont breakfast from 7-9am is quite early.
Location: Beautiful park a block away. Nice location by St Charles Ave and streetcar.
It was quiet and pleasant. The iron gate to courtyard made it feel very safe. Loved the charming decor.

Nothing fancy, yet comfortablePosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were very pleased with the location and comfort of the hotel. We stayed at the Oaks. If you want the comforts of a hotel chain, this is not the place to consider. The hotel had a musty smell, carpets were faded and worn out. The room itself was very nice with comfortable mattress, nice sized bathrooms, and clean towels. Housekeeping came in later in the evening to replace towels and make beds. Very close to Magazine street, Walgreens and good restaurants are within walkable distance. We would definitely go back to stay.

Pros: Clean, very unique, great value.
Cons: The continental breakfast should be improved, but the lady serving was awesome.
Location: We came to take our son to Tulane, and it was convenient to the university. St. Charles street is right there. Good parking.
The room was clean and very quaint. The lady who serves in the continental breakfast was very charming. Would definitely stay again.
