Good location within walking distance of BourbonPosted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The only good thing I could say was that it was within walking distance of Bourbon St and far enough you didn't hear all the crowds.
Cons: Put water in the room. We tried drinking the tap water and it was disgusting. Make sure there isn't black mold covering the insides of the windows
Location: Mena's was delicious for breakfast, and so was Mother's.
The room was extremely cramped. Its like they try to fit a queen size bed, table with chair, 2 nightstands, and a huge armoire in a tiny room. You could barely get out of the door cause the table was in the way. The bathroom was gross. It had wall paper peeling off the wall. The thing that grossed me out the most was that there was black mold in the window from end to end. It was nasty. We had to sleep on the other end of the bed because despite what angle you slept on the bed, the vent for the air was blowing directly on my face, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. There was no water in the room like regular hotels would have for their customers.

Helpful staff. Clean room..Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Near to Bourbon and Canal Street. Trolly car easy to jump on and off not to far away.
Cons: The rooms could be updated.
Location: Only several blocks away from Canal Street. Can go an get on trolley to go down to pier and Jackson square. Bourbon street is about 8 blocks away.
Our heat was not working and they had someone there quickly to get the heat working. The hotel staff was nice. The rooms were clean. The rooms were outdated. However staff said it was going to be remodel this summer.

In first room air conditioning did not work. dustyPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: The staff was very helpful.
Cons: rooms and TV
Location: Walking distance to most everything.
We had to change rooms due to air not working. in the room. The second room we had the TV didn't work right. The bathtub facet had to be replaced because it didn't work. Stains on the curtains, and blankets. The staff was very helpful and tried to keep us satisfied. Maybe when the hotel gets remodeled we might try it again. But not until then. The location was perfect. We was able to walk everywhere. The lobby décor was so real to the age of the hotel.

Bang For The BuckPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Staff consistently friendly and attentive.
Cons: Computer in business center is about two operating systems behind the power curve.
Location: Located in the Central Business District. Blocks away from Mother's Restaurant, Harrah's Casino, Canal Street/French Quarter. Also close to S'Dome.
Have stayed here since before Katrina, and the place has progressed from "comfortable, yet a little rough around the edges" to "comfortable." Desk, housekeeping, bar and valet staff have always been attentive, even if a touch overwhelmed or slow. Internet access (fee included in the room charge) on your own device beats using the older computer in the business. Furnishings are older in age, but comfortable, acceptable and clean. The room this visit is probably the nicest room (condition) in the dozen stays I've made. There is a fitness center, with treadmill, stairmaster, recumbent bike and small weight machine...housekeeping didn't stock up the towels as often as I would have liked in there, but it's a small issue easily remedied by dragging ones' room towel along. Parking - whether valet or in the paid lot next to the hotel - has rarely been a problem. I've learned to keep my car closer to the access points during weekdays so as to not be blocked in and have to call the parking company attendant. Breakfast (continental) is available each morning, but I recommend you grab a cup of coffee and take a walk down Poydras to Mother's...unless you really like fruit, muffins and juice. Want to be close to the Dome, Warehouse District, Convention Center and the Quarter without paying through the nose? Willing to walk a few blocks to where you want to be? This is the place to set up your "base of operations."

I would recommend this hotel!Posted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Location, comfort and the pleasantness of the staff.
Cons: The price was right but some things were overlooked -- we rented the room for three people but always had to ask for the additional towel set.
Location: The hotel is .8 miles to the Ernest J. Morial Convention Center so you can walk. The French Quarter, Bourbon Street, entrance for the cruise ships.
The room could have used a little help -- the faucett dripped constantly and there was a light missing in the entryway BUT we found the pleasantness of the staff - every one of them--to be fabulous. The location was excellent for walking to the Ernest Morial Convention Center, to the French Quarter and other shops.

A bit tiredPosted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: Neat and tidy
Cons: Needs to be refurbished
The carpeting and furniture is all a little tired. The seat in my room had a lot of stains and the carpet is coming up in a few places. However, the room feels clean and is certainly comfortable. I am sure there is better quality to be found for the same price in New Orleans
