The staff is very friendly and efficient. The room is comfortable, clean and quiet. The location made it easy to walk or catch the street car. We had a wonderful experience in New Orleans!

Location is good, older. Streets are very tight. Hotel is clean but definitely boutique. Desk staff is friendly. Valet work very hard and are pleasant.

Gorgeous, historic, beautiful, wonderful hotel. Definitely a destination even if you are not staying there - the restaurant and rooftop bar and live Jazz music were incredible. It was a very nice quiet place to stay, since it is in the Garden district rather than downtown. The trolley stops right outside the hotel. Need to uber to downtown New Orleans, though, unless you are up for a long (beautiful) walk. On the plus side, Uber drivers in Nola are like 2nd tour guides - very friendly and informative.

Loved the convenience of The Pontchartrain and the restaurants, rooftop bar and breakfast/coffee shop. However, for the price, I did not find it to be worth the amount spent. Rooms could use some updating, especially carpet in rooms and hallways and only one of the two elevators was working with staff stating it could take months before it is repaired. Customer service was excellent and food/drinks were delicious I was just not overly pleased with the quality of the room for the rate charged.

The staff was nice and the hotel definitely had that New Orleans feels to it but just not what I was expecting. Definitely do NOT bring a car unless you want to pay an extra $50 a day for parking and there was another $20 a day charge for amenities that Expedia didn’t mention. I just don’t think it was worth it for what we paid.

This was a fun stay with my daughter for her birthday. It was loud at night and the room was missing some lightbulbs. The shower was great and the bed was comfy.

This hotels seems a bit overrated. While the reception staff were friendly, but the staff in the Bayou bar were rude to us. As we tried to get a table, we were asked 'Are you going to eat? You can't just sit down and have nothing you know.' Maybe because I look young and was taking my little sister with me to have drinks and enjoy the jazz for the night. In fact, I chose to stay at the hotel for this reason. Our first round of drinks were cleared from our table very quickly, one of us did not even get to finish. We got fed up in the end so did not order a second round of drinks and left the bar. Full disappointment, I would not recommend.

The rooftop bar provided a beautiful spot to sip cocktails while watching the sunset. However, we could only go once because both elevators broke during our stay. This is not a very accessible hotel.

Charming, but just ok
The hotel has a cool vibe for sure. I get that it’s an older, restored building and part of the reason you stay here is for that charm. But it felt a bit grimy, to be honest. Elevator worked about 50% of the time and we were on the 10th floor. AC/heater is a wall unit akin to what you find in a motel 6. We had a city view, but the windows had so much condensation we couldn’t see much. Bathroom was pretty subpar and felt the age of the building. Shower just has a dainty curtain so water gets everywhere. Gaps in the grouting all over it. Water pressure goes from ok to terrible every 30 seconds so it takes forever to shower. Temperature was good, though. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors and people in the hall. Street noise was minimal. Location is great for the streetcar and garden district. Staff were all kind and friendly. Bed is actually comfy, but the pillows and seating in the room are not so much. Overall, it was a good stay. But by no means is this a luxury experience.

Charming but older hotel with period type furnishings. Front desk not so friendly- never smiled once. In room air conditioner/heater makes a ton of noise. Coffe in the room is the tea bag variety.

The hotel has a lot of charm and the staff is very good. Room was very comfortable. The floors, ceilings, artwork of the common areas should be noted. The problem was the elevators. There is only one (besides the service elevator) and it was not working half the time. The roof bar is extremely busy, very much a scene, and elevators when working were dominated by folks (largely who weren’t staying at the hotel) going to and from the bar. Only complaint about room was that there was no price list for beverages and snacks available. In the downstairs bar, good live music at night and bad canned music during the day.

When checking out of the hotel please get a statement from the Front Desk. I left the hotel on Sunday and that Tuesday I was charged for snacks and water that I did not purchase. I had to call and get a refund for the snack items. This is utterly ridiculous and will never stay at that hotel again. If it was done to me who else, they are doing this too.
