Beautiful hotel , great concierges....Tom and Cody , front desk Juan Carlos very kind...all staff were professional and so courteous. Well sited and well appointed a first class venue with all the festivities of the season at hand.

Christmas in NOLA

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: I find the expense at this hotel to be on the verge of extravagant-add the parking, the taxes and room rate and you are at the top of the chart.
Location: Merchant for coffee, Mass across the street, the quarters 2 blocks over, good quiet location
Enjoyed the Christmas feel of the hotel. Lots going on at hotel so not a place to go if you don't like to be with lots of folks. Very nice staff-quite helpful. Good location for us as we don't like to stay in the quarters. Wish you could get a good breakfast but there are places near by. Rooms very comfortable and clean.

Pros: Pleasant and helpful staff members. Room was clean overall.
Cons: See above. Management should show much more attention to detail, particularly given the pricing and reputation.
Location: French Quarter restaurants close by.
Room had plumbing problem. Janitor responded, but left behind a half-full bathtub with specks of dirt. No ice bucket in room. A wand on the drapes was missing making it difficult to draw one of the drapes. No hotel booklet in room with hotel information. Fax receipts were delayed due to no paper in the machine, which was not noticed by hotel until I came to pick up the faxes and was told that no faxes were received, and I asked them to check on it. Staff was very slow in obtaining and delivering faxes. Elevators would not operate without swiping room key, which was very difficult to retrieve when carrying bags and packages. TV remote very unresponsive and difficult to navigate.

There was no cold water in sink of bathroom. The shower body spray nozzles were broken. The tv in the bedroom did not work. No in room coffee pot.

Pros: Beautiful hotel & they were preparing the lobby for the Christmas Holidays - just gorgeous
Cons: our room faced the street & there was a lot of road construction, but it should be done in a few more weeks
Location: awesome location in the city - close to everything
This hotel has always been a favorite of ours, we've just never been able to stay. So this year we decided to spend our anniversary there. What luxury & a real treat.

Beautiful hotel near the French Quarter

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Location!!! Beautiful lobby!!!!!
Location: Within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. Fantastic Jackson Square. Hop on Hop off bus tour, a must. Loved touring the old cemeteries
Beautiful hotel within one block of all the bars and restaurants on Bourbon and Royal Streets. Lobby is decorated magnificently. Rooms were beautifully decorated and beds were very comfortable. Check in was quick and the gentleman was very polite and helpful.

We enjoyed the bars off the lobby. Great food and drinks... don't miss 'em, oysters on the half shell and a Grey Goose pear vodka drink was wonderful. Our room was very clean, very quiet, all good EXCEPT the price was outrageous. Sorry to say this but the staff was mediocre at best as well. We had a queen bed on the 12th Floor in Tower 2. We could have stayed on the concierge level at The Ritz for what we paid to stay here.
