Country RetreatPosted Jul 25, 2015
Location: Well situated in Amish Country - close to Berlin for touring and shopping. Also close to Wooster for the Ohio Light Opera - great musical theater!
Charming setting with the woods enveloping you. Birds abounding. From start to finish we felt so relaxed and well cared for. Very comfortable rooms in the Honeycombs with a lovely private outdoor patio overlooking the valley. In their restaurant, Tarragon, the food was yummy for both dinner and breakfast. We will return very soon!

Inn at Honey Run /The Country ExperiencePosted May 18, 2015
Pros: A very different experience as it relates to design. The Rooms are not your Ordinary Graden variety of Hotel Room.
Cons: Air Conditioning units should be up graded so as to make them more easy on the ear.(noisy)
Location: Rural area. Sight seeing, sampling local cuisine, visiting small towns If you like driving two lane coutry roads you will have plenty of it.
Great place to relax. Small blessing or curse, Cell phones did not function inside the Club Level Rooms. Had to go out on the patio for service. Driving to and from the hotel was an interesting event. From the Amish horse drawn buggies, to the two lane, winding country roads. Lots of small towns near by , tons of charm, great folks. We even found a great church a short drive away , St. Peters, where we attended Sunday services. Although we made reservations at the hotel restaurant our plans changed, and that did not happen. Having said that we did have room service. It was great ,and the food was good. A short distance away at Wooster , a College town, we had a great dining experience at a place called City Square, where we held a post Grad celebration for our Grandaughter. "Great Staff", decent food.

Quiet SerenityPosted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: The peaceful out of the way setting
Location: Please realize you are in Amish Country....it closes down by 6.....life stops at 6 so if you are wanting to shop and enjoy it come early.
We went to the Inn at Honey Run for a weekend Anniversary get a way. The in itself is set away from anything so it is very quiet and peaceful. The only noise is the sound of the baby lambs in the grazing areas. We stayed in the Honeycombs. I would rate the rooms very nice but for the money difference between the Select rooms in the Inn itself, I am not sure there is much difference for the price. The Continental Breakfast does come with the Homeycomb rooms. If we would stay at this resort again, I do not know that I would stay in them again. If I would stay here again, I would either choose a select room or upgrade to a cottage. I had the Continential Breakfast however my husband opted to pay for his breakfast and had eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with orange juice for $16.00. If you want a quiet place to stay and love exploring the outdoors you will love this place. (our room was shot by a skunk at 12:40 am and boy did it stink!!!)

Inn in the woodsPosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: We loved the experience and will visit again. We were looking for peace and solitude and that is what we found. You feel insulated from the world.
Cons: Lots of pros, no cons at all.
We stayed for our anniversary weekend. Everything we needed was there. Beautiful inn surrounded by serenity, helpful staff, nice breakfast. Would have loved to hike the trails but the weather just didn't permit.

Over All Very Nice!Posted Jan 3, 2015 on Hotels
Over all very nice and would stay again. The room had a lot of dust and wish for the price that we would have had a tub instead of just a small shower. The food was amazing and good service.

Great place with awesome service!Posted Nov 25, 2014 on Hotels
Everything was awesome, but when I talked to the representative I told them I wanted rustic with a fireplace and we just got a standard room so we were a little disappointed. It was our fortieth anniversary and we were looking forward to the fireplace. Other the everything was wonderful.

More than expectedPosted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: The quaintness of only 40 rooms and the restriction of no one younger than 21
The first notable thought was the setting of the hotel. The configuration of the building blends itself in the natural surroundings. My eyes could not be helped from focusing on the bird feeding treatment with their 4 massive boxes on second story post with other posts scattered around the building. We had arrived early and selected to try lunch at Tarragon were we had baked potato soup that rivaled some of my home soup. While dining we were also treated by birds and squirrels also having their lunch. The staff being attentive as they are by way of the waitress informed us that when we finish our room will be ready. Greeting us as we entered our room was a display of wine, water, biscotti cookies and coffee to be made. A smaller room (of our selection) more than easily accommodated the queen bed. The room was pleasant and well thought out even including the Peterson's Guide to wild bird identification. In the evening we requested room service of sandwich and drinks. Unaccustomed as I am to pay a predetermined gratuity and $5.00 delivery charge, for room service, the quality of the Ruben was the best I have eaten outside the home. The next morning a continental breakfast, the cost that is included in your room reservation, was as tasty and satisfying as any early morning feast. The two nights that we had expected to stay was cut short by a home mishap and after eating we sadly signed out. I know the much looked forward to evening meal would have been great

A must to experiance atleast once.Posted Oct 31, 2014 on Hotels
We went for our 1 year anniversary. This place exceeded our expectations. I have traveled a lot and stayed at some 5 star hotels. This place by far was the nicest place I have ever stayed at. From the friendly staff to the grounds there isn't anyway of improving this place. Definitely one to put on your bucket list.

Loved the woody area surrounding the hotelPosted Oct 28, 2014 on Hotels
The grounds around the hotel was absolutely stunning especially in the fall. I really enjoyed my stay and will probably return to this "retreat in the woods." However, it would be nice if the resturant prices were a little more reasonable. Even $15.00 (plan on $35.00 at least for two) for a breakfast entree for bacon and eggs is exuberant especially when you can go up the road to a B&B and get the same breakfast complimentary.
