Lovely little hotelPosted Mar 24, 2015
Very comfortable bed/pillows/linens. There were a few items for sale (water and wine) on the table facing the bed with HUGE price tags which was a little tacky. Robes were a nice touch and I loved the l'occitane bath products. The pool was also lovely, but I wish they had a hot tub!

Well situated.Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: Superior quality of room, lounge areas etc.
Cons: The quality provided really could not be improved upon at the rates charged. This hotel was excellent value.
Location: .10 minute walk to beach, good shopping on the way. Water taxi right there. Good independent restaurant.
A pleasant welcoming hotel, nicely located for beach access and river transportation.

Step back in time.Posted Feb 23, 2015
The experience is so very unique at this hotel...it is like stepping off the street in Florida and into old New Orleans. Beautifully preserved building with very accommodating staff. The continental breakfast delivered to your room at the precise time you asked for it was very decadent and again, very unique. I wish we could have stayed longer at this quaint location that is truly very focused on exceeding their client's expectations of service. Loved it. An easy walk to a very interesting shopping district also...We were afraid it would be noisy due to it's location just off a bridge, but it was very quiet in our room, lovely pillow top mattresses too ! You should experience it for yourself.

Pros: Old fashioned decor and charm
Cons: Cash travelers' checks in the future. There is no reason not to do so.
Location: Wildlife preserves, beaches, good restaurants
Excellent experience, but I was disappointed that the hotel would not cash my travelers' check.

Lovely historical hotelPosted Jan 14, 2015
Although the room was not palatial, it was lovely. The pool area looked very inviting but the weather wasn't warm enough for us to take advantage of it. Also the large wraparound porch would have been the perfect place to relax had we had warmer temps. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Historic hotel with a lot of character. Rooms were clean, just a little cramped. Very friendly staff and charming lobby/gift shop area.

Charming HotelPosted Nov 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very nice Victorian style hotel by the river. It has a lot of charm and very friendly staff. The only thing that I could comment on is the breakfast. They deliver your breakfast to your room in the morning which is very nice and different. However, the options for the complimentary breakfast are very limited and the biscuit we ordered with extra charge was not very appetizing. But overall, very delightful hotel which I will recommend to everybody that is going to the area.
