Close to grand central and local attractions

Posted Sep 29, 2014
The floors were very creaky and it made a noise with every step you take. It can be loud at times with the traffic going on at night and early morning. The room has nice decor.

Larger than expected, clean as a whistle.

Pros: Terrific location, good service, convenient breakfast, and easy bar where a single woman can feel comfortable having a glass of wine after meetings.
Not knowing what to expect, I was anxious, but the hotel was absolutely fine, and I will surely stay there again.

Boutique quiet comfort in the heart of Manhattan

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Location: This hotel is in the centre of Manhattan, perfect for doing all the touristy things on the island - and it is a very short walk to Grand Central.
From first impressions to checking out this hotel was everything we needed it to be in New York City. The room was a good size considering the location and had all the usual amenities. The iced water ready and waiting in the lobby on return from a busy days walking was a welcome relief and the wine hour was a bonus. And the most important thing, the bed was super comfy!

Excellent hotel with great location

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Quiet and dark room, loved the decor, fresh water, snack bar options
Cons: No complaints!
Location: Times Square, Rockefeller Center, great location with easy access to Subway from Grand Central
I stayed here and LOVED it. Staff was really helpful -- they upgraded me to a king room, were prompt with anything we needed (going above and beyond to bring us extra towels when we just needed a few), etc. The beds were SUPER comfortable and the room was dark -- and QUIET (yes, even in NYC). We walked to Times Square, Rockefeller, Fifth Avenue, and of course Grand Central. There's a nearby Starbucks for morning coffee and a quick bite and fresh water in the lobby. After lots of Expedia research, I'm so happy we picked this hotel.

Quick/Safe walk to Grand Central Station

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly Staff, Clean, Safe, Central
Location: Grand Central Station NYC Library Bryant Park 5th Ave Shopping Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock) Empire State Building Time Square
My husband and I stayed at 70 Park Avenue Hotel NY while we attended the US Open. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind. The room was small but exceptionally clean, bed comfortable, quiet room on the 10th floor. The grab and go for breakfast was pricy, but a Starbucks is on the next block in route to Grand Central Station. In the Grand Central Station terminal there is a large food court area including pizza, a deli, Magnolia's (WONDERFUL BAKERY) and more! We felt safe and central to be able to reach the US Open as well as do some touring around the city--on foot, by cab or by subway.

Our toilet wouldn't flush and we needed to call the front desk at least three times. The shower wouldn't drain as well even after they "fixed" it. Very dissatisfied.
