“A Sweet NYC Experience!”
If possible, ask for an upper floor to get views of the East river or some of the most famous skyline in the world. Great neighborhood has lots of restauants and convenience stores. Nice spa too!
“Will stay again”
In the city for college visits, just me and my son. Great neighborhood, great restaurants all over, market on corner and a movie theater just a couple blocks away. I usually stay mid to uptown and this really changed my mind. Stayed 4 nights, loved having a full kitchen, we only used it for cereal and milk, but still. Staff was very nice and helpful. For New York standards the room seems huge. The bathroom was clean and reasonably up to date. Clean and comfortable beds. Came home bug free.
“Great Value”
I stayed just before thanksgiving holiday. Agree with the many positive reviews on this site.
“Don't look any further!”
You can't beat this hotel. Great rates. Great location. Rooms are huge. Staff is exceptional. You won't be disappointed.
“Costoso, ma li vale tutti !”
Hotel per turisti dal palato fino, anche se Manhattan è un po' rumorosa l'hotel è veramente molto confortevole ed il personale è il TOP che si possa trovare. Con un bellissimo ristorante-pub al piano terra (The Barkling Dog) e tutta una serie di servizi quali sauna, palestra, ecc... ecc..., potreste anche riuscire a non muovervi dall'isolato per due settimane!
“Loved this hotel”
The Affinia Dumont was exactly what my niece and I were looking for on our weekend trip to NYC in early October. At 34th and Lexington, it was just far enough from the craziness, yet extremely close to the subway, within walking distance of locations we wanted to explore. The highlight of the hotel are its employees. We enjoyed interacting with the doormen. Extremely helpful, genuinely interested in our planned activities, and offered suggestions for restaurants if we needed, and sometimes without us even asking! Clean, comfortable room, super comfy King bed (and we also used the convenient pull out sofa as a 2nd bed. We got the King suite, so there was a King in a separate room (with door), bathroom off that bedroom, and of course the huge living room with pull out sofa, side chair, large executive desk, TV, etc. The kitchenette was a nice touch, although we only used the fridge and coffee pot. Everything was well thought out in the room for the comfort and convenience of the guests. Stay here! You'll love it!
“Would definitely stay here again.”
Excellent mid-town location. Spacious room (junior suite). Many good restaurants within two blocks, including the Barking Dog affiliated with the hotel
“A definite return...”
With a gorgeous view (24th floor) and wonderful cushy beds (down comforters and pillows), this was a wonderful family vacation. Very clean, and a nice "feel" to the room--open and fresh (we appreciated the air purifier), with the herbal scent of the toiletries a pleasant top note. Our kitchenette (very limited utensils--just pots and tableware)allowed us the freedom to eat in for breakfast and lunch, so we weren't "stressed" at mealtimes. Our doorman was precious--I need his help at home! He was very personable, and included the children (we have 4 little ones)in conversation. In seeming to be genuinely pleased to have us there, the Affinia made us feel very welcome, and we'd love to return for another visit.
“Great hotel!”
Loved this hotel-we had a 2 bedroom suite on the 29th floor with a view of the Chrysler Building. With two kids and grandma, the extra room was great as was having the kitchen. The larger bedroom had a desk and sitting area with a small bathroom. The smaller bedroom had two queens with a large closet area and large bathroom. It was actually a Jr. suite plus a 1 br suite connected. The decor looked just like the pictures on the web. Comfy down comforters and pillows. We bought groceries at the market on the corner and made breakfast and lunch in our room. For dinner, the Barking Dog was great-very kid friendly food and reasonably priced. We got take out and ate in the room (a life saver with tired children). Starbucks was right down the street. Empire State Bldg and Macy's were close by. We had no complaints and would definitely stay here again.
“Wonderful hotel”
I was worried that previous reviews were too good to be true and that I would be disappointed with the Affinia Dumont. I am pleased to say it was wonderful though! The room (one bedroom suite) was enormous and very comfortable and the staff were really friendly. All in all, I felt very relaxed and 'at home' here. Highly recommended.
