Great location and staff but a bit worn.Posted Sep 8, 2014
Hotel is located in a great area. Quick access to the Grand Central terminal. Easy walk to several sites and good restaurants. Hotel rooms are showing signs of age and limited maintenance. We stayed in a basic king bed studio ( room 1607). The mattress was in need of replacement and the air conditioner was quite loud.

Great hotel in a good location.Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The location was great, the staff friendly, and there was a very useful guest laundry on B level - $2 for the washer and $2 for the dryer.
Location: The Affinia Dumont is on 34th Street - near the East River. It is within a few minutes walk of the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station.
The Affinia Dumont is on 34th Street - near the East River. The hotel is 37 stories tall, our junior suite was on the 18th floor - and had a dual aspect with a great view of the Chrysler Building. The suite was very spacious, had a separate kitchenette which was fully equipped, and a good sized lounge area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a wine hour from 5pm to 6pm every day in reception.

Excellent stay!Posted Sep 4, 2014
Loved the location, just a bit off the craziness of Time Square.... was upgraded to a suite with kitchen, large living room and large bedroom with two king beds... had all the amenities needed and more.. fluffy big towels and nice robes. great pillows and you can even select your own choice of pillow comfort. Lots of storage space for any city, let alone NYC! had complimentary wine for guests each day around 5 pm... the staff were all pleasant and very helpful, the doorman always opened the door with a smile. Would stay again for sure!

room changePosted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Close to my office.
Assigned room (25th floor) was already occupied by someone when I went there and walked in w/ my key. Called lobby from there and they told me to go to another room (34th floor) and they would bring a key up to me. I waited there apx 10 mins and went back down to lobby where they told me they got busy. Upgraded to a corner room and excellent views. Staff was very friendly and apolgized for the inconvience.

Spacious, clean room. Great location.Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Room size, friendly staff, Mini kitchen.
Cons: free Wi Fi in rooms, it was free in lobby and our teenagers were happy enough to sit down there.
Location: Short walk up the road to Empire state building and tour bus pick up points. far enough away from night time noise.
Mini kitchen was a great asset. Friendly staff, comfy spacious room. We were able to check in early and on checking out there was no problem with leaving luggage with them till time to leave for our late flight. Short walk to Empire State building, and close to everywhere without the noise of busy all night area's. Happy to recommend.

Well located hotel, helpful and flexible staffPosted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Flexibility of staff, customer focused, location and size of room.
Cons: I would suggest better noise insulation - road noise is quite intrusive.
Location: Empire State Building (5 minutes walk), Macy's, Times Square (15 minutes walk).
We had a pleasant stay there for 5 nights. We had a one bedroom suite which was spacious enough and well equipped. Staff were very pleasant. The only downside was the noise as we were facing the street. We did flag to the hotel staff though who proposed to move us to a higher floor. The bathroom could do with a bit of an update but nothing major. Overall a very good stay there.

Large Room, no noise from other rooms,Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Room size and quietness. Daily wine hour
Cons: Although we only used the kitchen for breakfast it was a bit lacking in crockery etc
Location: Restaurant beside the hotel good value for money. Short walk to the subway
2 good sized beds in a large room with seperate kitchen area. Never heard guests in other rooms or doors slaming. Although not in the central part of new york easy to get anywhere you needed on the subway

Cons: They could provide free internet access for a few minutes each day to allow some one to quickly check their email, and etc.
Location: Grand central station, empire state building, Macy's department store. Park Avenue, 5th Avenue
Large comfortable room, with a kitchen including pots, pans, dishes, and etc. Walking distance to subway, restaurant on ground floor, 24 hour market next door.
