Still great but not quite the hotel it was....Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Space, facilities in room, location
Cons: Decorate some areas, get back to the service levels of old
Location: Great UES location, quieter on a night but close to subway, accessible for everything.
We have stayed here three times. Rooms continue to be well equipped (and they are HUGE) by NY standards. This visit though wasn't quite as good - communal areas looked a little tatty & the service wasn't quite as good. I wonder whether there has been a change of leadership? Still great but it didn't quite live up to previous visits

Comfortable and hugePosted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Size of rooms - staff very friendly. High chairs provided, etc.
Cons: Cheaper parking. Table in the room for eating.
Stayed here a couple of nights with wife and 2 kids (1 and 3). What the room lacks in luxuriousness, is more than made up for in space. When you have been out and about all day with young kids, coming back to a huge area is so valuable. Kids put to sleep in the very large bedroom, leaving an equally large living area for my wife and I where we won't disturb the kids. No minibar, but there's a great supermarket round the corner. Location is excellent for if you're spending time in the Upper East Side - easy enough to get downtown if needed. I will definitely be staying here on future visits.

Nice Hotel - No FrillsPosted Aug 27, 2014
Location: Walk to central park, central park zoo.
We had a single king bed with sofa pull-out, and the room was very spacious. The rooms with 2 queens may be smaller. Room was clean. Hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, diners, cafes nearby. Staff is very polite.

nice enough hotel, but internally noisy... It is odd to be greeted with in-room earplugs.

Nice quiet location.Posted Jul 28, 2014
One night stay. Everything was great. I did have something sent to the hotel prior to getting there and only half of it was actually in the room. I had to go and track down the other box. Very clean. Great for families.

Nice hotel in busy cityPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: See above

Location: Good location but you really need to use the subway to get around all of Manhattan especially in the summer heat.
The Affinia gardens hotel is a great place to rest your weary head in the madness that is Manhattan. We had a large comfortable room, a junior suite which had a huge double bed and large sofa bed. Perfect for a mum and teenager. Helpful, pleasant staff. Free wifi in hotel lobby. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room on the third floor was really quiet apart from one evening when our next door neighbours were very loud and rowdy. The matter was speedily handled by the hotel security. It would have been nice if there had been a small hotel bar.

Friendly and EfficientPosted Jul 10, 2014
Stayed a week. Very friendly and efficient staff at front desk at all times. Room cleaning good. Decor a bit jumbled. Could have done the room better without spending more. King bed comfy, bathroom small but well-equipped.

Cons: Put in new carpet. One of the 2 beds squeaked.
There was an unpleasant odor upon entering our room. The carpets were well worn and stained and one of the beds squeaked. It was very nice to have a kitchen and the size of the room was quite large. The hotel staff was very pleasant and extremely accommodating.
