Huge room, great location!Posted Sep 30, 2014
I was so excited to find the hotel looked as nice in person as it did online! It was my first visit to New York and it was overwhelming trying to choose a hotel. I was very pleased to have found such a huge room in New York City! The entire staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!

Great stayPosted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, great size room
Cons: Bathroom could use a bit of updating but thats being picky
We stay at this hotel for 12 nights in a room with a kitchenette. Plenty of space and a very tidy room. Bathroom was bigger than expected. I read alot about the slow elevators in this hotel but we never had a problem. The location is fantastic, Penn station right across the street and Herald Square station not to far around the corner. We didn't find the outside noise too bad, I didn't use the ear plugs they supplied once. We enjoyed our stay here.

happy stay new yorkPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Would use this hotel again is get a good early bird deal.
Cons: Quiet room and earlier check in,
Location: Across the street to Penn Station, walk to Macy's and Madison Square Gardens and restaurants Close taxi ride to Wharf and 25mins to airport.
hotel location excellent for walking to sites; Penn station, Madison square garden, macy's ect. our return trip to this hotel. happy hour was good also. this time there was street work going on and it was a little noisy. So would recommend requesting a quiet room. good sized L shaped room made for good space to relax. We also got an up grade on arrival. We are good sleepers so did not worry us. would go back. We used the hop on hop of bus for 3 days as this was a return trip to New York. Had an excellent evening and the Coke Cola Jazz Club got in on stand bye tickets by being there at 6pm short wait.

Really friendly & helpful staffPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: The staff and the way they were so approachable, polite, helpful and friendly
Cons: Removing the little flies that were in the room that friends used on the 17th floor.
Location: Within walking distance was Penn station, Manhattan Square Gardens, Times Square, Empire State Building, Macy's store, Manhattan Shopping Mall.
A group of us stayed at the Affinia Manhattan hotel because friends were getting married at Central Park. The staff were really welcoming and helped us all out with our various queries. From the doormen to reception to housekeeping to the restaurant and bar staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and made everything so much more special. Thank you to everyone involved in making the wedding festivities so wonderful.

Noise issue, internetPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: clean, friendly and location
Cons: as above
Location: midtown close to all sights but also to the noise
We had to change rooms three times as the noise from late night police/fire engines sounding sirens continually and cars was almost unbearable. Managed to get an upgrade which eventually we were not charged for. WIFI available in lobby only unless you want to be charged for it. Be aware they tried to charge us for this when we didn't use it.

conveinent hotel in manhattanPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Location, was by penn station, easy access to metro, central to New York.
Cons: New larger bathroom and new windows to shut the traffic noise out, but then again it is the city so do expect that.
Location: Practically opposite Madison Square Garden, easy access to metro, the hop on, hop off bus tour starts and finishes in time square, within walking.
Used this hotel as a base for four day sightseeing trip in New York, they have obviously have updated this hotel recently, first impressions are very satisfactory, but they forgot to update the bathrooms that are very worn now, enamel coming off baths, tiles an grouting old an weathered, for such a spacious room, shame the bathroom was tiny and old. hotel bar nice, friendly good staff, but for such a large hotel, it wasn't big enough, so often could not get a seat.

Good location, comfortable stayPosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Location and comfort
Cons: Universal wifi
Location: Bryant park and NY Library, Macy's, easy subway aces. Try Friedmans on 31st for meals, excellent
Enjoyable stay, location excellent. A bit noisy at night but that's Manhattan for you and we managed to sleep! Very comfortable rooms. Free wifi in lobby now, would be good if extended to rooms. Restaurant good and reasonable.
