Centrally located very nice hotelPosted Aug 19, 2014
We love this hotel as we travel to NYC via train into Penn Station and simply walk across the street...It is clean, comfortable, and has a nice restaurant and bar. The hotel is within an easy walk to Macys, the Empire State Bldg and Fifth Avenue. Its location is roughly midway between Central Park and Battery Park, making Manhatten sights accessible via a long walk or short cab ride...The staff in the hotel and restaurant were very professional, friendly and accommodating .By NYC standards the rooms are reasonably priced..Will definitely return to the Affinia Manhatten.

❤️NYCPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds. Enjoyed the thoughtful gift from hotel on my bday!
Location: Train station and subway close by! The start the High Line path was a few blocks away. Short walk to Times Square.
We spent 6 days enjoying NYC. The Affinia was a good choice, it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and great location. Comfy rooms, we had a studio and found the kitchenette handy, more space than we expected! Liked the happy hour.

6 day stay in NYCPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: The staff, cleanliness and location.
Cons: The speed of the elevators but they were working on these at the time of our stay.
Location: The location is very handy and close to lots of places and activities.
Affinia Manhattan was an excellent hotel. there is only one issue and that is the proximity of the hotel to the local fire station and, somewhat, Madison Square Garden. The fire station appears to be a busy one and every time the trucks leave the station they blare their horns and sirens due to the proximity to the intersection and business of the area and I gues NYC in general. We asked to move rooms due to the noise and the staff were more than willing to assist however the new room wasn't all that much better as far as the sound of the fire trucks. It really ended up not being that big a deal as they provide ear plugs and my partner became accustomed to these very quickly and funnily has continued to use them since our trip. The staff at the hotel are fantastic and the hotel itself is very clean with plenty adequate rooms. The location is fantastic, close to MSG, only a few blocks from Times Square and with subway stations extremely close. Overall I would definitely recommend the Affinia Manhattan.

Can be noisy and inconsistentPosted Aug 11, 2014
Cons: Update the bathrooms and not just put wall paper and paint in the rooms
The bathrooms have not been updated, the kitchens are nicely appointed, although ours was dirty. We switched rooms after being offered, and taking an "upgrade". The bath tub did not drain so that was not pleasant. The first suite did not have AC in the bedroom so that room was hot while the living area was very cold. The second suite had AC in the entire area-make sure you ask about that. Do not get a sofa bed as it is uncomfortable. Some rooms are quite noisy, it is across the street from Madison Square Garden and you may hear everything. The wine hour has been changed from daily to Mon-Thursday at this property. The front desk staff is pleasant. Valet was great.

Cons: Bathroom amenities need to be updated.
The hotel staff was excellent and very friendly. Lobby is bright and modern. Rooms are more spacious than most NYC hotels.

Central Mannhattan hotel near Penn StationPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Location and cleanliness.
Cons: A bit noisy but this seems unavoidable for an hotel slap bang in the middle of Mannhattan.
Location: Very centrally located near Times Square and Empire State etc. Couldn't be better for the first time tourist.
We arrived by train from JFK so had chosen the Affinia because of its proximity to Penn Station. On arrival check-in was swift and efficient. We arrived as a family with our son and stayed in a room with a King bed and a pull out sofa bed. Linen for the latter was provided as soon as we arrived. The room was very clean and the air-con worked well in the hot weather. We requested extra towels which were provided promptly. The desk staff were informative and very helpful and the room was very clean with fresh linen every day. Our room on the third floor was right beside a fire station so was a bit noisy during the night.

NY with familyPosted Aug 9, 2014
Near Times Square, fast foods and in front of Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Hotel in good conditions, but pictures are nicer than real place. I rented a studio with kitchen but there wasn´t a table or place to eat. HAd to ask three times for na extra pair of towels. It worths because of the localization.
