Great hotel in a fantastic location!

First time in New York, I had no idea what to expect. Affinia Manhattan, was perfect in every way. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, affordable rates, great restaurant and bar, and the location can't be beat.

Great location!

Pros: Convenient to Penn Station and subway. It's far enough from Time Square so the crowds aren't bad but close enough to walk there. Great staff!
Cons: Attention to detail, I requested extra pillows and towels but had to call and ask for them any way. They were brought right up, but had to ask again.
Location: It is across the street from Penn Station and close to subway stops, walking distance to broadway and Time Square. Plenty of resturants and stores.
We rode the train up and the hotel is across the street from Penn Station, very convenient. Time square is with in walking distance and the subway stops are only a block or two away. We had a great view of the city, it was noisy but they did supply ear plugs.😀 I liked having a frig to put left overs in and cream for my morning coffee. We did have to ask for extra towels each day, which was a little annoying. The over all experience was good, this was our second stay here and I think we will go back.

Great location and nice hotel

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The sinks are a really dumb design.
Location: Penn station is across the street with access to every destination. I loved being close to Macy's.
The only real fault I had with the hotel was the housekeeping was more of a change of towels and make the bed. I had spilt some nail polish remover on the bathroom floor and I cleaned it up but I could still smell it 2 days later as they hadn't mopped the floor. My husband enjoyed happy hour in the lounge. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend.

Centrally located very nice hotel

We love this hotel as we travel to NYC via train into Penn Station and simply walk across the street...It is clean, comfortable, and has a nice restaurant and bar. The hotel is within an easy walk to Macys, the Empire State Bldg and Fifth Avenue. Its location is roughly midway between Central Park and Battery Park, making Manhatten sights accessible via a long walk or short cab ride...The staff in the hotel and restaurant were very professional, friendly and accommodating .By NYC standards the rooms are reasonably priced..Will definitely return to the Affinia Manhatten.

❤️NYC

Pros: Comfortable beds. Enjoyed the thoughtful gift from hotel on my bday!
Location: Train station and subway close by! The start the High Line path was a few blocks away. Short walk to Times Square.
We spent 6 days enjoying NYC. The Affinia was a good choice, it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and great location. Comfy rooms, we had a studio and found the kitchenette handy, more space than we expected! Liked the happy hour.

6 day stay in NYC

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: The staff, cleanliness and location.
Cons: The speed of the elevators but they were working on these at the time of our stay.
Location: The location is very handy and close to lots of places and activities.
Affinia Manhattan was an excellent hotel. there is only one issue and that is the proximity of the hotel to the local fire station and, somewhat, Madison Square Garden. The fire station appears to be a busy one and every time the trucks leave the station they blare their horns and sirens due to the proximity to the intersection and business of the area and I gues NYC in general. We asked to move rooms due to the noise and the staff were more than willing to assist however the new room wasn't all that much better as far as the sound of the fire trucks. It really ended up not being that big a deal as they provide ear plugs and my partner became accustomed to these very quickly and funnily has continued to use them since our trip. The staff at the hotel are fantastic and the hotel itself is very clean with plenty adequate rooms. The location is fantastic, close to MSG, only a few blocks from Times Square and with subway stations extremely close. Overall I would definitely recommend the Affinia Manhattan.

Can be noisy and inconsistent

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Update the bathrooms and not just put wall paper and paint in the rooms
The bathrooms have not been updated, the kitchens are nicely appointed, although ours was dirty. We switched rooms after being offered, and taking an "upgrade". The bath tub did not drain so that was not pleasant. The first suite did not have AC in the bedroom so that room was hot while the living area was very cold. The second suite had AC in the entire area-make sure you ask about that. Do not get a sofa bed as it is uncomfortable. Some rooms are quite noisy, it is across the street from Madison Square Garden and you may hear everything. The wine hour has been changed from daily to Mon-Thursday at this property. The front desk staff is pleasant. Valet was great.
