Nice secure hotel close to Penn Station.Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Penn Station
Cons: For the price the bed could be cozier. Internet free please.
Location: Food in area wasn't high end but good. Ranged from pubs to small places for a slice if pizza. Access to transit is very good.
Pretty pricey! But your guaranteed a clean and comfortable place to launch from.

Week in N.Y.CPosted Sep 10, 2014
Location: Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens across the road and Macy's two blocks away
Went to New York for first time, Hotel is easy to get to from Penn Station and is central for all connections. Staff friendly and helpful, Bar staff go out of their way to help. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Hotel!Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: I liked the contemporary style mixed with the grandeur of art deco. Wonderful decor.
Cons: Maybe the price of wi-fi in the room could be reduced. $14.95 seems a bit high.
Location: Very close to Penn Station, Madison Square Gardens, Time Square, Empire State Building and more.
The hotel was just wonderful. Centrally located for my family's needs. Great service, very clean and very contemporary. The staff were very helpful and prompt. I would definately return.

Close to 5th Avenue but hotel very noisy.Posted Sep 5, 2014
Room a nice size and clean, shower a bit dated. Very noisy a lot of banging above and to the side of you starting at about 3-4am in the morning. Watch out for when your checking out as they tried to say we had brought drinks and chocolate when we didn't. Rooms clean, very over priced for what you get. I personal wouldn't go back.

Great hotel in a fantastic locationPosted Sep 4, 2014
The deluxe room was very big with a king size bed and pull out queen size sofa bed and plenty of room to move about even with the bed 'out'. Three good size wardrobes & plenty of drawer space. Only downside was the very small bathroom, the shower was too small so not sure how a larger person would manage. We had to remind the staff on a few occasions that we needed extra towels as there were three of us in the room and these were always delivered quite promptly. The men who looked after the luggage were very friendly and helpful, especially Marceau. In fact all the staff were ver friendly. All in all a great hotel :)

Wonderful locationPosted Sep 4, 2014
Our room was larger than expected, clean and comfortable although the air-conditioning was a little noisy. The hotel's position was magnificent making it easy to explore New York and as this was our first visit to New York it was a big plus.

Great New York City HotelPosted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Room size. Cleanliness. Bed's very comfortable. Central location.
Cons: Desk service was a bit slow.
Location: Penn Station is across the street and Madison Square just behind that. Lots of dining and shopping nearby.
The Affinia is an older hotel with lots of character. Our room was a 1 br suite, and it had 2 private rooms with a kitchenette. Very large by NYC standards. It was recently renovated and very stylish. My only criticism is that the older hotels use window a/c units in NYC, which are not as quiet as central ac. Otherwise, the hotel was great.
