Five blocks to subway, bus outside the door.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Comfy bed, pillows and bedding.
Cons: Free wifi.
Location: Starbuck's 3 blocks, groceries within two blocks, one mile walk to Central Park and shopping.
We stayed one week during spring break. Bed was comfy, water was hot. I recommend booking a room above the tenth floor to minimize street noise-hotel is located on a corner so traffic two ways. Amenities are an extra cost -wifi, coffee, breakfast. Parking in lot behind hotel was handy and affordable. Although it worked out okay, next time I'm going to try to get something closer to a subway.

Ok hotel, but wouldn't rush back

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Room sizes... The double two double bed rooms aren't fit for three to four people, they should only be double rooms.
Location: Walking distance to main attractions and subway.
Pleasant experience and staff friendly, however have stayed in far better hotels in NYC for the same value etc... Room views and size quite poor, although location and cleanliness was good. Worth a try but I personally wouldn't recommend to a friend and won't be rushing back.

"Feelin' Groovy"

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Location, location and price.
Cons: Staff was not so friendly at the front desk, chambermaids in the hall, doorman. They did not seem happy to be there or to see us.
Location: I mentioned above Neely's BBQ Palace a block away and the East River. It would be a long walk, but due west is the Central Park Zoo which we visited.
If your room doesn't have a view of the 59th Street Bridge made famous by Simon and Garfunkel (OK I'm 50 but my daughter who was looking at NYC law schools liked it, too), your view will be of the East River looking north or nice city scapes. We had the East River view and I found the wide granite window sill to be ideal for sitting and watching tugboats pushing barges. The location is car and subway convenient for both uptown and down. The rooms are recently-ish renovated with European glass showers, more granite. The Lobby bar converts to a mini-Starbucks during the day. The penthouse restaurant is an outside vendor so meals cannot be billed to the room - yep, you get nowhere waving your room key. Could use better printed material in the room explaining these pros and cons. It is a great value, location, and a block from Neely's BBQ Palace (if you watch the Food channel or not, great smokey pulled pork). Oh wait, the "bed turn down mint" is actually a half moon cookie - super!

Very good hotel in an intriguing area

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Lots of good things about the Bentley, in spite of heavy morning traffic in the area: views, good; staff, exceedingly pleasant, helpful (helped me track down a lost bag) and competent. Not fancy or flashy, but comfortable and accommodating. We recommend it.

Good location for Upper East Side

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Throw in a few freebies, like coffee and wireless.
Location: Five blocks from Lexington and not far from anything. Too noisy and small rooms, but otherwise ok.
The room was clean but small. Best thing was the linens. The hotel charges extra for a coffeemaker in the room, something that even cheap motels usually give you for free. Everything was extra, including wireless, and use of a refrigerator. That seemed very stingy to me.

Pros: Room clean and easy to get too.
Location: Location ok - close to Park Avenue and shopping, a little hike to the nearest subway station...
Did not spend much time at the hotel, but it was nice and clean!

Convenient location to Hospital for Special Surger

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Location to HSS
Cons: Hotel is very dark and uninviting
Location: Upper East Side, away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway / Times Square. Within walking distance of fine shopping and restaurants on Madison Ave
My husband had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery so this hotel is in an excellent location for that. Within a few blocks walking distance.

Good clean and safe location for a short visit

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Easy reach by taxi or metro of all attractions.
Cons: Better soud-proofing
Location: Good Diner The Ritz for breakfast.
A good hotel , walls not too thick so if noisy neighbours do let staff know, they do try to please. Clean good quality beds and pillows in a safe area.Air con effective. Would recommend.
