Decent hotel, good value, some issuesPosted Mar 5, 2014
Location: Tenement museum Subway station (Grand St) East Village Brooklyn Bridge Financial district Battery Park (boat to Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island)
NEGATIVES Breakfast is included, but the breakfast room is tiny and very overcrowded, just a handful of tables crammed in a small space next to the reception desk. It was often busy, so we usually couldn't get seats and had to wait in queues to get to the food - not what you want first thing in the morning! The layout of the rooms is weird, with the bathroom by the window, the bed next to the corridor and poor internal sound-proofing. This meant that we were frequently disturbed by noise from the corridor. Especially when we were put next to the vending machine which people used throughout the night. Also, there was no way to prevent light coming through the huge window in the bathroom and into the bedroom through the frosted internal window - fine for us in winter, but it could be awful in summer. There were lots of large groups of young people staying there. POSITIVES Good value for money. The bed was comfortable and a fair size. The street noise wasn't too loud. A good location, one block from the subway. A waffle maker at breakfast, if you are prepared to queue. The staff were helpful and friendly, and allowed us to move away from the noisy vending machine on our second night. (Sean in particular was great arranging taxis to the airport etc)

Good location, nothing was stolen.Posted Feb 16, 2014
My wife and I got roofied at a nearby establishment and instead of spending the night in the hotel, we spent the night in the hospital. We were happy to come back to the room with nothing out of place, everything just as we left it. 10/10, would leave our stuff there again while in hospital sleeping off roofies.

Pleasant hotel located in China TownPosted Feb 4, 2014
Cons: The beverage vending machine on 7th floor need to repair, they don't take the coins and notes.
The hotel staff are friendly right from checking in until checking out. All the tourist attractions literatures available in the hotel lobby are really helpful.

ChinatownPosted Feb 2, 2014
I loved the location of the hotel. Chinatown is so different and fun to be in and the subway station was so close to make it easier to get around the whole city. Room was cute and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved how the bathroom floors were heated, it's the little things. Best part was the free breakfast, definitely helped save some money.

Pros: A pleasant and friendly environment.
Cons: The heating can be noisy on the coldest days.
Location: As stated above, two very interesting localities on the doorstep, with a wealth of interesting restaurants.
This was a great place to stay close to both Chinatown and Little Italy in New York.

Lower East Side comfortPosted Jan 24, 2014
Pros: Rooms, cleanliness, location
Cons: Keys sometimes didn't work in elevator
Location: Lower East Side is a really fun area with lots of restaurants, clubs, galleries and interesting shops. The hotel is close to subway stops as well.
I love this hotel! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is roomy and bright. The windows even open to let in actual air! The breakfast is o.k., nothing special, kinda like what we usually eat at home, which is fine. And you can't beat the location for subway access and walking distance to restaurants, bars, and fun walks. This was our second time staying at the Bowery Hanbee. We are certain to stay there on future visits to NYC as well.

Good Hotel in ChinatownPosted Jan 23, 2014
I chose this hotel because it was only steps from a party venue (Capitale) I was attending that night. I was not looking for elegance, but it is certainly good value for the money.

Good rooms, poor breakfast, not friendly staffPosted Jan 19, 2014
Location: Subway 5 min, many restaurants 3-20 min of walk. South Broadway - 5 min, Wallstreet, Brooklin bridge, WTC 20-30 min of walk.
Location on bound of China town and Little Italy. Many restaurants with china, vietnam, italian, france cuisine. Only 300 metres from subway (5 mins walk from room). Very poor breakfast. I like meat and be not satisfaction. Too many rooms and only around 10 tables for breakfast - always need wait. Staff not given me latest check-out at 3:00pm, but many rooms be free.
