Great LocationPosted Aug 20, 2014
The hotel location was perfect due to it's close proximity to the subway and lirr. The only disconcerting thing was the parking situation. Only 9 parking spots available (first come, first serve basis). No in out privileges. There was a garage about a block away. The staff was great and very helpful. All things considered I would stay here again on my next visit to N.Y.

Need to cancel within 48 hoursPosted Aug 14, 2014
Unlike most places that only require 24 hours for cancellation, this place requires 48. The breakfast is better than a lot of places. However, the "free parking" is about 5 places, so don't count on it. The parking garage around the corner is only $9 per 24 hours, which is nice.

Hotel is nice but the neighborhood is not safe.Posted Aug 12, 2014
This hotel would be fine if it was in a different location. The rooms were small but clean and the breakfast was good. However, do not believe about the parking. There are only about 8 parking places on site and there is no access to them except through the front door of the hotel. Only one of the spaces was for handicapped and it was being used for a person without a handicapped permit. The staff did move that car but it caused a delay. Overall, I would select a different hotel.

Average hotel - was not located in the best neighborhood (arrived at around 5:30pm & person from shop next door was standing outside with friends & blasting his boombox) but price was economical. Carpeting in room seemed old and could hear the trains go by at night. Stayed there to attend show at Barclay's Center but was still a $10-12 cab fare from the subway station on Atlantic Street even though hotel was located on same street. Staff was helpful & nice.

Best Western Plus - nice hotel, terrible locationPosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Great staff, close to subway.
Cons: Bigger room, quieter a/c & maybe quadruple glazing !
Location: Nothing within walking distance of hotel, but only 5 minute walk to subway. Great Mexican Restaurant 5 minute taxi ride away at 491 Atlantic.
Once inside the hotel its just the same as every other Best Western, friendly helpful staff, clean & good facilities. BUT, the room was tiny, we are a family of 4 and we squeezed into a room with barely room for 2 (small) double beds. The hotel directly overlooks a main road and train line, very noisy in spite of triple glazing. Also not a great neighbourhood, not unsafe, but seemed to be mainly car body shops & other similar units. Parking in local garage for $15 was OK. Only 5 minute walk to subway so easy to escape to somewhere nice.

Very close to the Barclay CenterPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Staff very friendly, clean facility
Location: Barclay Center is nearby. The LIE train and METRO subway are within walking distance. I walked a few blocks to take to the "A" train into NYC
Hotel staff is excellent, Facilities inside are excellent. If you are driving, they only have about 7 spaces for parking. So, you would have to park on a side street and walk. I would say that was the biggest negative. Outside of that, the hotel itself and staff made up for it.

Brooklyn Bad SidePosted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Room was nice and a good size for New York City. Bed was quite comfortable. Nice tv, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
Cons: There is not any parking at this hotel and the nearby parking garage was always full.
Location: Nothing to do nearby. No restaurants, shops, etc. The area is scary. Closed businesses and lots of graffiti and garbage in the area.
As a frequent Brooklyn visitor, I was looking forward to staying at this hotel but found that the area where the hotel is located is nasty. I understand the parking limitations in NYC but this hotel has no parking despite what the hotel web site and hotel staff tell you. There are a total of 10 spaces for hotel guests. Those were always taken. The staff directed us to a parking garage nearby and it was always full plus it wasn't a place where I would want to leave my car. We drove around for 45 minutes one night looking for a place to park. We found a spot in a neighborhood several blocks away. Around this hotel there was nothing to walk to and there is a very busy multi-lane highway in front as well long vacant businesses. We brought our bicycles and the staff was very accommodating and stored our bikes for us. I appreciate their kindness. Next visit, I'll go back to the near by Holiday Inn Express where the staff helped us find parking for our car.
