Cheap, safe and close to everythingPosted May 18, 2015
Location: Near Central Park, Cathedral of St. John, Columbia University and several subway lines.
We had a good stay at the hotel: very nice check in and out (we were upgraded from 2 twins to 2 full) and the room had nice décor and was at the end of a hallway so pretty quiet. A great price for having your own private place to stay in the city. Also nice lounge and computer area downstairs. The communal bathrooms are cleaned thoroughly once a day, but with the heavy use are not always completely clean (but if that's a deal-breaker, then you should pay $100+ more a night to stay somewhere else with your own bathroom! It's not that important to me versus the savings). Our room even had a sink, which was great since I was traveling with a toddler. I was woken up a couple times by conversation in the hallway, which was probably just due to the old building and the fact there is no carpet in the hallways, but not a big deal. Bring some earplugs if sensitive to noise.

Convenient location, not luxurious but good enoughPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location, neighborhood, staff
Cons: Too noisy, I had to wake up a few times because of the noise people made.
It is a good location. Clean place. Nice staff. Better than most other equal places.

Pros: Affordable and good location near subway.
Cons: Radiator was loud.
Location: Near central park and subway stations.
Affordable hotel. I had a single room and the room was clean and neat. The bed and sheets were comfortable. Room came with bed, towel rack/ coat rack, sink, night stand, tv, towels, and soap. The radiator was a bit noisy and windows were thin so heard traffic outside. Bathrooms where shared and was a few on every floor each with toilet, shower/tub, and sink and was clean. For what I payed for the room it was very worth it, defiantly not the nicest hotel but far from the worst. Defiantly worth it for anyone in their 20's that is on a budget. There was a cafe in the lobby that provided cheap breakfast foods and drinks. Staff was very nice and allowed me to check my bags after I checked out, the charge was $2/bag but they only charged me for one. Would say here again.

Friendly staff, a lot of foreigners stay here, which is cool. All three TVs were connected so if the channel was changed then it changed on all of them, regardless of what room you're in. And I'm pretty sure the staff controls the TV, so you better like what they like or you're effed.
